great game! great weather too...thanks wallace (especially for that great weather) this was my first Ohio event (yep, i was one of the guys hailing from Boston, no...not the one with the shotgun) and I was very impressed with A) the turnout, and B) the skill level of the players. Thanks again to everybody that helped out, and to that kid in the bush for the 6mm hicky he gave me...

A big thanks to Wallace for organizing the event, the food, armbands, all that stuff. It was a good time! I look forward to the next one, though this is probably one of the last outdoor events this year. Shoutouts to the S.T. crew who came to the game, and Locutus and Brad who also showed up from AirsoftArms.

It really sucks that at the night before the game, I found out my team was not going. I'm disappointed that I had to be left behind a second time (I was sick with bronchitis when Fran Bar came around). It sounds like it was a blast and im glad everyone had fun, even though I was unable to attend.

Big thanks to 21st Century Airsoft and Airsoft Arms for supporting the event with raffle items, especially 21st Century Airsoft for setting up the shop and suppling our needs.
Also in addition to the above list, congratulations to those who win and had already collected their items (i.e. those who stay till 6pm), especially the player who won the $100 21st Century Airsoft Gift Certificate. Spend it wisely! :)
To the winners: If you have the winning ticket, PM your ticket number to me and let me know how you would like to pick them up. If any of you are attending Op. Revolution (and hopefully most of you are), I can send all the winning items to Blade and you can pick it up from him, which saves some shipping cost. Otherwise I can have them mailed to you individually as well. Nonetheless, send me a PM first, and once I got all the items claimed I will make a trip to the post office.
Regarding the event, I personally think it did not went very well mainly because of the time wasted in administrative tasks. Me couldn't get to the field until 9:40am didn't help either... but next time I will have the chronos and registration setup way ahead of the game time (say, 8am) so the players who arrived at the field early can have the guns pre-chrono'ed. I am very unhappy at myself that the first event didn't get underway until very late - a big failure in my part (its probably one of the worse in all the games I've ever run). Then the high wind caused my grill to take AT LEAST twice the time to cook the brats, cause the wind is cooling it down faster then it can heat up the plate. So lunch hour was overly long too. I am truly sorry and I apologize as my lack of foresight had taken away your valuable play time. But rest assure that I will do better next time.
Nonetheless, I do hope the armbands did help reduce friendly fire, and the "Airsoft Ohio Event Parking" sign did help you find the field better (I know many people would drive pass the entrance as it is not very well marked). Those two items combined cost over $700, although not all of them are being used in this event (I bought 2 signs and 220 armbands in total). But if it helps run AO games in a more professional and efficient manner, I am all for it.
Finally, althought this is the last event I host this year, look forward to a bigger and better next year. Thank you again for your support!

When can we see some pictures? :D
I wasn't allowed to go, but sometimes the pictures highlight the funniest moments of a game.
P.S. I'll take any unclaimed raffle prizes.....

Wallace, I think your apology is completely unnecessary. A lot goes into planning and running an event, and there will always be unexpected things that come up. I personally think you did a great job at keeping things running as smooth as possible and making sure everyone had a good time.
The armbands didn't stop all friendly fire, but it definitely helped and I think you should keep using them. I also liked the medic rules. Having to go back to respawn several times in a game on a field that size would really suck. The food of course was great (and free):D Thanks.

yeah, i'll side with inferno...no appologies needed, the games were incredible, and you can't control the wind...those brats were really tasty too, i had absolutely zero complaints...the "football" game moved a bit slow...but that's just my opinion, game #1 was awesome...
brown and grey were tough to see, especially brown, i had to call in a guy with a scoped weapon to find out that the sqaud across the ravine was with me on brown...red/blue would be good...but would hurt camo...but then again, i was wearing a bright orange one too...so who am i to talk? overall, great time, and i'll be doing my best to attend any and all events hosted by you in the future

p.s. any idea when pic's will make their way forward?
p.p.s. a big high five to bill of 21st century to charging the enemy full-force with me in those last two games...so little tactics, so much fun...

Ill also side with inferno, there was no appology needed. the only three complaints i had were, me falling all the time, my battery not lasting long enough, and the fact that night fall came to soon, but other than that, i loved everything else that happened. The first game was insane, fast paced, nonstop action, and alot of fun, the bombing run was also fun, and the last few ambush games were also fun, except when the batteries fall out the the foregrip, but other than that, the entire day was great, kudos to you wallace
unfortunately i wont be attending the next event in spring field, but i cant wait until you throw another event next year
peace

Wallace thanks for the great time!
Also I wanted to personally thank everyone in that first scenario who helped out on the brown side, but I didn’t get a chance… So here it is now.
I want to give it up to Grease Man of [iP] who volunteered to be a general knowing it would limit his “trigger time.”
Secondly I wanted to say that in spite of our very short time frame pre op, I felt that we had very good communication in what needed to be done and who was going to do it. Radio coms were short and sweet, and from what I seen effective (for instance the call and response was transmitted only twice once the mission was underway and was used on at least one instance that prevented friendly fire.) We owe that to our squad leaders & field commanders aka he guys in the orange bands.
Thirdly, I want to thank everyone who stuck it out with BSTAB on the first objective. I wish I could remember names, but I truly felt that our holding that point was/would have been (not sure who won) a key factor in victory.
In fact I was moving over to let our right flank know to rally up to move out, when I seen multiple enemy approaching. Sorry if I blew your ambush guys, but they had me spotted, the best move I could have done was to alert the defense, and then attempt to draw them into you fire sectors. (It was after that fight in the thick brush where multiple brown on browns incidents happened that we instated the call-response) (PS Wallace, don’t think that the armbands were worthless, nothing is going to cover every aspect 100%, we were in very bad formation which prompted the B on B in the first place)

i was a squad leader holding the path near the second objective, where the strikers mounted their final offensive. That was an incredible spot to defend, and we had several intense, drawn out firefights, and even drew the attention of another sniper. I'd like to put out a big thank you to iP and 97th for giving us the manpower to work with at that spot, it was key to defending our flank, and we held it solid from the first shot to the last. every man (and woman) down there took hits, and another very special thank-you to our medic (i didnt catch your name, but you had a MAC-11) you did a wonderful job, and are, in my opinion, the MVP of that game.
It takes guts to be a rifleman, it takes balls to be a medic. (it takes stupidity to be a squad leader...orange armbands...heh)
g'nite
see you all on the 20th

i was one of the commanders of the first game and i think it went relatively good. i had a lot of fun that day tho i only got to play in one game. im not sure who all was at the top of the hill during the last 20 minutes of the 1st game but i know some of my team (97th) was up there and the rest of the men did a hell of a job until our fatal charge.
i want to thank everyone who helped organize the game because they did a great job in my opinion.
