Hi, I was looking at getting the TM VSR-10 and was wondering if it was a good gun..... like what is FPS and durabitlyity, etc. And how easy are they to upgrade?
Would you guys recommend this gun or any other snipers???(not psg1)

I dont say this much but since im the first to reply, DO A SEARCH or look in the bolt action section theres some threads there about it. But to answer your question, its a pretty nice sniper rifle and i see more and more upgrades everyday. FPS for it stock is about 280-300. As for durability its plastic (of course) and some say its to light and unrealistic. I like it when i can carry my gun for a while with out my arms falling off, but for realism sake i took two lead weights and stuck them in the butt stock. Mines pretty calm right now i only have a 120sp spring with a smooth bearing spring guide and a tight bore barrel(i plan to upgrade more but i dont know how to save my money so i could only afford that). Overall the gun's pretty nice it does its job but it would be nice to have a little more fps, remember if you go for the pro sniper you have to buy the weaver seperate and i custom made a silencer for mine but with the G-spec it comes standard. I would go for it if you are a beginner and leave it stock, but you could also go for the many upgrades if you know a little more about airsoft sniper rifles.

ok...well sounds to me like the gun sucks for $200 and also sounds like the super would be a better gun....and it's only $90 ... lol and it's got more fps...~350....
my opionion but...I think for $200 thats a rip! ~300 fps....my glock shoots ~320

umm dude almost every spring sniper rifle you can buy will come stock at about 300 fps except maybe the SP M40A1, and have you tested your super nine with a real chronogragh. Yes gas is another story if you buy a gas sniper rifle you can get 500 fps stock but you can't use gas in the cold and the shots are not as consistent. The gun is actually a really nice one for your money.

If you think the Super 9 is a better buy than a Tokyo Marui product, well have fun wasting your money.

no, not a super pooper. LOL. The G Spec is a decent gun. Grunt has one that shoots about 440 or so. He also has a nice scope on it. The only thing that turns me away from it is that there is no such gun in real form. But if you want a super pooper than be our guests. Then come back and tell us what a piece of junk it was. LOL.
Yes your glock shoots 320 FPS. But, probably isn't any bit accurate after 40 feet.
Yes, the Super 9 may shoot 350~ FPS, but it's a big peice of **** thats going to break in probably 9 rounds. Sure, it's super for 9 rounds. Hence the name super 9.
Yes, my m40a1 shoots 500 FPS, and yes, I spent probably 1200$ on m40's in general.
You get what you pay for. I have a one of kind gun.

You just wanted to brag about your M40 didnt you Fox. When are you gonna sell that thing?
When ever some one makes me an offer above 650. I need to sell it, and my m16 soon. I'm going to be getting the AK-74M kit and possibly the new tanaka M40a1 for summer time use, and maybe winter if I convert it to CO2

All that....and modesty too  . In all honesty If I had a gun that nice I would brag too...:)
BTW, if the Super 9 gets nine shots...then the VSR-10 gets ten right ? ;)

if you want a VSR 10 G Spec let me know. Grunt has one that was only used in one skirmish (OPNW). Its upgraded and all. He wants to sell it. He has too many guns and needs some cash. He cant access the web so let me know if you are interested and i will relay the info to him

Mikhail Timofeevich Kalashnikov was the inventor of the AK series. The AK in AK-47 for example, means Automatic Kalashnikov and model number 47. (someone correct me if I am wrong) Cybergun is a airsoft gun company, a bad bad company.

yea, after I posted that post I did a search and I found out what the ak is....but I think i've heard people previously talk about cyberguns....If i recall they said they really suck and you shouldn't buy them...I think those were cyberguns bb's...So I dunno on the guns, but I imagine they suck as well.

Lt. Corbin, I think you are wrong, I'm pretty sure the "A" in AK stands for Kalashnikov's first name. I'm sure Foxtrot knows, anything AK, Foxtrot knows...:D

I thought AK meant "Avatov Kaleshnikova"
and the only thing cyber gun made that was alright was the auto hardballer.
Cybergun tried to monopolize the airsoft market underestimating it's power of other companies. They told US retailers to sell their guns and do not show the competitors.
meaning, they are TM, CA, WA, KSC, HFC, Maruzen, ICS, etc etc HATERS! YAR!
And they have failed. And I think they turned into "Falcon Airsoft".
nuff said.
No1 answered my question. What gun should i buy.

1- do a search, no one can tell you what gun to buy, only you can know.
2- generally with airsoft you get what you pay for. tokyo maruis are the best cost effective and reliable price point for an AEG. thus they are highly recommended for newbies and pros alike.
3- this puts you easily into the 300+ range after buying the minimum equipment, mask/goggles, batteries, charger, gun, ammo.
4- any and all tm aegs will perform within a very similiar corridor of expectation, with slight variations for the barrel length. longer barrel- faster and farther but not by a terrible amount. I have a stock m733, with a short barrel and do fine.
5- in the future do a search. no one answered this question, not out of snobbery but out of repitition. this question gets asked about 2.5x a week and all you need to know is here-http://www.airsoftohio.com/dynamic.php?s=&action=newbiefaq&menu=2&pos=40
enjoy.
ps the A in "ak" stands for "avutomat" or "automatic."

You see...one of the best things about Airsoft is that it's entirely up to you.
I choose to buy the Kalashnikov. But I was wondering if any1 knows what its heavy weight is. I was told heavy weight guns work better and are more reliable. I was also told the Kalashnikov's heavy weight is 3.41 but that does not sound that heavy, even with a metal trigger, metal butt plate, metal release, and a metal rear sight.

Considering those probably way as much as a couple or so quarters, I doubt they add much weight difference. Heaviness really means nothing except the heavier you make a gun, the more you may not want to use it. Some consider a heavier gun realistic, but it's up to you. You could get metal body parts for an AK to make it heavier, or if you want really heavy you could try to mount a cinderblock. :p

Moderators, can you please ban this isane guy? His posts have no meaning and attack other members. Its hard to believe he has 100 something posts and has a 1.3 rating... thats pathetic in my opinion.
As for the AK, I personally had one for my first gun. They were great! I ran into the side of a barn muzzel first and I did not notice anything broke on it. The wieght is really nice and the gun is very very sturdy. I had it looking good too! Took steel wool to it and had it looking like a real one that had been in combat for a long while. I also took some light sand paper to the stock and foregrip and made it have a real wood look and feel to it. So... in general the AK-47 is one of Tokyo Marui's finest!

yea, nice one demolition man, yelling to ban me because my post dont make sense? ummm.....you must of havent read all my post i guess. Plus, I started this thread to know if the VSR-10 was a good gun to start out with, not get an ak.....so now who's posting about no meaning, the AK by Tokyo Marui has NOTHING to do with a VSR-10. Just wanted to state that :).

Yeah, i'm going to have to side with Demolition Man on this one. Generally speaking, your posts are pretty worthless. You made a post that has nothing to do with anything except to start/continue an argument. Quite ironic if you think about it.....
