anyone got one. How sturdy is it once its mounted. I am planning on getting one of these over the SUn Project model because the G and P has a metal barrel. It will be going on a m15a4 SPC. Thanks in advance

I have one mounted on a TM SR-16. The bottom rail of the SR-16 RIS has about 1/16" play in the rail - which translates to 1/16" play in the M203 mounted to the rail. I would still consider it very solid. The play is not noticeable unless you grip the M203 and really try to jerk it back and forth...hold the Bevis and Butthead jokes.

Do get the long version if you plan to use it to fire the Nerf Howler footballs. The G&P M230 rocks, even with the extra weight it adds to your gun.

thanks MacDaddy, now i need to figure out where to buy it from. Cant find one stateside so looks like its either wgc, dentrinity, or uncompany. Does anyone know if the G and P ris mount m203 has trades to worry about keeping intact

Yes - cool Colt trades. See attached photo.

Airsoftextreme might have them, but they order them with trades ground off.

I got mine from www.gunsnguys.com Asked for painted orange tip and trades covered, not removed, just in case.

yeah i emailed airsoftextreme to see if the trades are there or not.

Where did you buy from

I am thinking of going with uncompany and having them putty the trades and paint the tip orange which i will remove with thinner.

What type shells you use

24 round?

I have heard the 24 round shoots farther than the 165. I am thinking of going with the mosquito mold 24 round

I hear the rifling in the barrel of the G&P launcher is strait rather than spiralled. That's kind of cheesy if you ask me. When you get your G&P M203 please shed some light on this.

i dont think it really will have much of an effect any way. If it was a real 40mm round coming out then yes, but BB's probably not since the barrel is so wide

Code 3 - Yes the rifling is straight on the G&P M203. They were made to shoot BBs, as opposed to the much, much cooler function of firing Nerf pocket footballs, hence the straight rifling of the inner barrel.

JT - I have the 24 round shell. It fires the volley of BBs pretty straight and far. It also fires the nerf football about 75 yards :D

I have not used the other shells 78/165, but I read on another AO thread that the higher number round shells have worse accuracy and distance, which makes sense - same force, but greater mass.

does the 165 hold more gas than the smaller ones. IF so that might be good for the howler footballs.
