I just performed a rear sight upgrade to my new TM Glock 26 Advance. I thought I would share how/what, etc.

The TM Glock 26 Advance ships with a white dot metal front sight and a plastic plain black rear sight. I wanted something a bit more "real" and then it dawned on me that I did own something more "real". Years ago during my military service we were allowed to purchase a personal weapon for duty use and a great number of us chose the Glock 17 in 9mm. Having purchased a dozen of these fine weapons though the military sales channel, Glock threw in a number of extras, armorer's tools, etc. Included in that kit was a number of genuine Glock rear sights, with the white outline design. Well it turns out I saved a number of these sights - my new Airsoft G26 Advance version served as the motivation to dig these up and see if ine would fit on the slide.

Well it turns out it did. The dovetail on the Marui airsoft version fits a real steel Glock 17 sight just fine. I simply removed the slide from my G26, flipped it ove and unscrewed the sight retaining screw, removed the old sight and then CAREFULLY pushed in the real steel sight along the dove tail channel with a pair of needle nose pliers. The new sight is locked in and centered in it's mount and it looks beautiful

because viewing through various hk website retailers, they have images of the TM G26A such as this from Wargamesclubhttp://www.wargameclub.com/WGC_Shop/images/tm_ps_g26adv.jpg

and they both seem to show the same sight.
Is this not correct?

I think the G26, regular version that is, has a decent sight. But the G26 Advance comes with a plain old black version, and it's plastic like the slide material...

as i have only seen the standard stock G26, not the G26Advanced.
and all the images that i have seen of the G26 advanced have the 'new sight' that you have put on yourself..

When you say it fit perfectly, I take it you mean there is no wobble or play whatsoever? If so, I wish KSC would adopt that design..lol

b/c when I replaced my rear sight on my KSC Glock 19 with a trijicon one, there was some major play. I ended up just epoxying the thing on.

I was surprised at how well the dove tail channel fit the new sight. But given TM's eye for detail I am not surprised in hindsight.

No wobble whatsoever.
