Rank System for the message forums

First off I would like to say thank you to all the Webmasters, Moderators and everyone else who have made this excellent web site possible.

A suggestion that I have for the Airsoft Ohio forums is a ranking system based on the number of post a user has. Anyone out there that remembers the old version of Airsoft Ohio, you probably know what I’m referring to. I was wondering if it might be possible to implement that ranking system in the message forums again and use the Marine core ranks. The ranks could show up under each members avatar.

For example, a new user starts out as a Private First Class, when that same user has lets say 50 post on the forums that users becomes a Lance Corporal, when that user has 120 post on the forums there rank moves up to corporal. The highest rank would go all the way up to Lieutenant General (that's three stars).

The main reason that was taken out is because it brings nothing but spammers, and people who insist on replying, "Cool!" etc. Just junk that waste's space, time, and making flaming more probable, as well as headaches. Locutus if I remember right almost took the post number off of people's little mini profile below the avatar, just to keep people from even worrying about it at all. It is nice when you can have people not abuse the system, but with the ammount of problems it brung, kids spamming, etc. it became a huge nusiance, and we haven't had near the problems it used to be.
