There was a post a while ago about, tiger stripe camo that later turned into certain units are classified into.
I allways thought that d-force and SAS was the worlds top special forces units. And i neva thought that the rangers would be considered light infantry, kinda like the mariens. I know that they are the footmen of the US army.
So does it go like:
Delta-Force
SAS
Navy Seals
Green Berets
Rangers
Mariens
???Whats the order (if there is one)???

The 75th is light infantry in a socom kinda way. I like the way it was put in that thread. QRF for the SOCOM guys. Socom guys number few, and when they need some muscle, they get the rangers. Blackhawk down is a fine exampe of this. They held the area secure while the delta guys did their job.
however, overall your question is entirely subjective. No one can say any of them are better or worse. Each has an area, but regardless, you cant really classify them. What obective evidence would you use??
on a side note, the marines are a part of the navy. While they train more vigoruosly sometimes, and have alot of pride and tenacity that many Army units could not match, they arent a special force at all in any sense of the word.
Not putting down their tenacity, I would put them at less trained than a large portion of the Army. How many airborne marines do you know? not too many, versus roughly 1 in 5 soldiers in the Army being airborne. Obviously thats only one example, and i could go on, but there is no point to that.
One important thing to remember, and i hate this about interservice rivalry... were all on the same side. Everyone is a part of the whole. The samer goes for infnatry types busting on the combat support types, armor types busting on the infantry types, etc etc.
This has been covered like 9 times already, and it's just turned into one big flame war each time it's talked about.
So Give it up, theres no order, we're all on the same side, each group has their own job, and how they do it, which makes them special.
Example: Navy Seals aren't going to storm the beaches like 2500 marines. Delta Force isn't going to take on Heavy Armor like the Army Mech. Divisions are. Etc.
Please lock mods.
