Okay gang, I now have a "first hand experience" safety tip for you. HAVE ALL GUNS CHRONO'D BEFORE A GAME!!!
After lengthy talks with Deviant about my next AEG, I bought an AK-47 from an overseas retailer with a TN barrel and Systema FTK already installed. It was SUPPOSED to shoot ~400 fps. As I had discussed what I wanted with Dev, and the retailer had a good reputation, I THOUGHT I had no reason to doubt what my AEG fired.
Anyway, this Sunday, I skirmished with some of the Strikers. I popped Punisher early on in the day, and he asked what my gun shot. I told him 400 fps. He asked if I was sure, I replied "Yes"... I mean that's what I asked for, I wasn't buying from some shady character!!
Later that morning, I got off another welt-raising shot at what I would call "long distance" on Punisher's bother.
During the lunch break, a chrono appeared, and just to satisfy my own curiousity, I fired three rounds.....464, 467, 463!!!!
Needless to say, I apologized to Punisher and Co.
So, I would STRONGLY suggest teams invest in a chronograph, and chrono EVERY gun prior to play. It doesn't take long, if the team chips in, it isn't expensive, and you just may save someone's eye, and I guarantee you'll prevent some bad feelings.

Ouch... My first question: What FTK did you ask them to install?
This is even another reason to require all the chrono-ing and safety prior and during games. Some people, like in this case, will make an honest mistake. And its always nice to catch our dumb mistakes before you run into the embarrasing situation that Allen had to deal with :)
Another one for people to think about, because I know I was guilty of this for a few games. Remember to always chrono with your 0.2g bb's. I kept chrono-ing an M15a3 and it kept reading 360 fps. The spring in it should have been putting it at 400 fps. I wasn't particularly upset that I was shooting less, but I was concerned that I might have an internal issue (or soon to have one :D ) Finally, it was at OP: Slash and Burn last year, I was sitting there thinking about it, and I noticed my bag of bb's, suddenly remembering that I had been using 0.25g bb's exclusively for the past few games. Fortunately, thank goodness, my AEG was still in the limits of the games, but that could have been bad as well.
Things to think about.
P.S. And, just to show my luck, at the end of that OP I had shredded nearly every tooth off of my piston due to shimming issues. Gotta love life.

Well, not being a mechanically inclined guy, I simply told Deviant I wanted a gun that shot at ~400 fps. I figured the TN barrel would actually put me a tad over it.
What I think most likely happened is when Deviant placed the order, he repeated my request...an FTK install that put my AEG at/near the 400 fps mark. What was not understood was that was with .20 gram BBs . I gather in Asia, .25s are commonly used for fps measurement.

The funny thing is there are chronos out for relativley cheap. Under $100. A teamate of mine just got one, and its a very helpfull tool to have.
Just on a little note on Ak FTk's
a systema M120 FTK with a TN inner barrel, it will easily crono 430~ with .20's. The only AK FTK's ive seen 'regularly' offered (mine was customized from blade nod to him.) are m130's and M150's.
So, yes, it's very easy and beleiveable that your cronoing at 460+, especially if they just slapped a FTK in with out changing the springs to a lower spring.
I'd recomend swapping the spring you have out now, to an m100, with the FTK it will put you around 370~ FPS depending on your piston and such.
Also when you swap the spring out, check to make sure they sweapped the piston out. If you have a Red (color) polycarb piston, replace it our else you'll have a stripped piston soon. Systema's Red PolyCarb Piston (found in the FTK's) are notoriously bad by design.
Hope this helps. If you have any more questions about the Ak, feel free to ask :)

Thanks Fox.
The point still remains though.....we really should start chronoing guns before games.

What's the FPS limit for HALO events? I can't seem to find it.

Here are the sections of the HALO rules that deal with FPS and MED's.
"HALO Does NOT use a minimum engagement distance for AEG's
All AEG's must not exceed 400fps with .20g ammo"
"Snipers will have 500fps limit, however, they are not allowed to engage a target with the sniper rifle at less than 75'. Engaging close targets is the job of the sniper's spotter, not the sniper's rifle! Any deviation from this will be seriously looked at with possible expulsion from game.
For velocities listed as (SEMI) it means the weapon is incapable of full-auto fire. i.e.: bolt-action, or has full-auto fire clearly disabled."

Yeah, I know the pain of hot guns. In my last skirmish, I got lit up by a 400+ FPS gun in a CQB game. I was about 5 feet away. Granted, we dont play with engagment distances at all around here, but the bleeding holes all over my body gave me a good reason to consider it in future games :(

If I had to guess, I'd say that most of the AEG's on my team are all between 350 FPS and 400 FPS. The last time we had any CQB was in a large old residential house. No real seriour injuries, but some fat lips and a couple of welts. It was really nuts, and not for every one. The amazing thing though was that only 1 window got broken.
