I was playing today and the bolt handle from my APS snapped off and I have to send it in to get repaired b/c some metal clyender shard off, so I cannot fix it. On top of that I have to go to court! For using my Airsoft gun in lakewood. I have had the cops called on me and they didn't say anything about it, but apperently some charge was filed and at minimal I will get probation. G/D it! It is a mistiminor, but this day has really crapped out!
P.S. I live in lakewood Ohio which is near cleveland. If anyone wants to give me a ride to BF on june 8th I would appreciate it, I can even pay for the extra miles it would take to pick me up. I'm a hoot, it'll be fun!

Yikes, this is a good example of why we need to check our local laws regarding airsoft. Thats to bad Delta.

I did check the rules for cleveland, but I couldn't find the ones on lakewood, so I double checked the ones for all of Ohio. I am not completly ignorent, but hey that is never an excuse.

You should always consult local law enforcement to be absolutely sure what the laws are in your area. Too bad though.
Darkstar out.

man sux to go to court, and i wish i could take u to bf but it would be way out of the way, i live in miamisburg, sorry man, good luck
In most smaller cities its illegal to discharge a weapon. Including an airsoft gun.
Team TAC is lucky enough to have a few guys from the force on their team, permission from the land over, and an assistant mayor on their team. They are in East Lake/Wiloby or how ever you spell it.
Cheers & Good Luck

from the sounds of the repairs he's needing, doesn't seem like it would make much of a difference

I thought that airsoft guns were toys, not even classified as an airgun.
What gives.

airsoft guns are not toys and are regarded by many as real firearms.

That sucks big time. Bye the way the other day I was shotting my airsoft gun on my property into a target and my neighbor came out and said she would call the police if I didn't stop. Since I didn't want any trouble I obliged and stoped but can she do that?

In many cities and towns it is illegal to discharge a pellet or BB gun within the city limits unless at a specified gun range. Thats how it is here in my town and many around me. So to answer your question, yes she could call the police and there is a chance that what you were doing is illegal. So before doing it again, I would consult local LE authorities on the laws around air guns.

i know a friend who was shooting his paintball (bleh) gun at a target on a big piece of plywood in his backyard and his neighbor called the police and they came and laughed and said that as long as he was on his property and just target shooting he was fine and then they left. i never shoot my guns outside if i see anyone...

I am almost posative it is legal to use bb guns in are town, as long as it is on your own property, so I think that rule would apply to airsoft guns also.

Hey. I live in the little old town of Columbia (25-30 minutes from Hartford CT) We checked into the state laws and everything, and here in CT, airsoft is classified as toys (not even BB guns, just toys) But, for safety reason, we still treat our weapons as bb guns, which have rules on how far from peoples houses you can discharge it. I dont remember the number, so you can look them up on any of the state law pages posted various places online. Me and my friends observe these bb gun laws, just to make sure our asses are completely covered. However, as long as you are on your own property, and dont have any local ordanances about airsoft, and act responsibly (ie. Dont point it at the neighbors and stupid stuff like that) there is nothing she can do. I would however suggest, as airsoft is still pretty unknown in CT, to notify your local authorities about your use of airsoft weapons, and clarify everything with them, so they dont come a'knocking on your house.

i just called the west chester police (not 911) and asked about bb gun laws and using them on your own property. the guy told me that there are no laws regarding bb guns but to use common sense, like not shooting people with them and to be aware of your suroundings and know that you arent doing anything that could hurt someone. just so all you west chester kids know now...

Solarmech,
I would contact Troop C in tolland or Troop D in colchester and check with them.
I live in CT and there are laws pertaining to replica firearms in the state and Airsoft fall into that catagory.
Also state and local jurisdictions sometime differ in what they define a "Firearm" and as such the laws may differ from town to town.
