Unfortunatly it takes a lot of time and money to get a good reinactment going, otherwise I think many more people woulld be doing it.

Like Grease man said, the money you have to put into the gear, equipment, uniforms, and such from beyond vietnam era, is just blistering. You may be able to get off with some cheap stuff now and then, but they are probably severly used or heirlooms. I would love to have one in ohio, Vietnam, or WWII, but the problem is, getting more then enough people with money and such, just is too much to ask for at this point in time, especially when most of us already have money issues with affording what there already is with today's type of gear.

I once tried to order the equipment necessary to immitate the look of the German sniper from enemy at the gates. The hat alone would have cost 78.00 w/o shipping, BDU's $100-200 depending upon type I picked, and the other accessories made it seem like I could get a very, very nice AEG for less than what the total price of looking like a Waffen SS or Wermacht sniper.

Well, I Just Finished My ww2 German SS Panzergrenadier Impression for Airsoft. I Would estimate The whole thing cost me about 1500$. That Includes the K98k and the P38 side arm.

Even at 1500$ I cut a few Corners. WW2 Reinactors use something called the 10 ft rule. Wich basically means that if you stand 10 feet away, and you cant tell its not like original, then its acceptable. Of course the only things I fudged on my impression are the Pants and boots.

However,, WW2 US Impressions are allot less expensive. You can get a whole set of Repro WW2 HBTs for about 100$.

So if you Really want to do WW2 Airsoft. and you don't have 1500+ bucks to dump into it, then American is the way to go.

The Biggest problem with US gear is the Lack of weaponry. And having a squad equipped with nothing but TM M1A1 Thompsons And M1 Carbines just doesn't look right.

The good news is that With the Impending release of TMs M14, Several Modification kits are rumored to be in the works for both the Browning automatic rifle,( the US Squad automatic rifle of its day) and the M1 Garand. Wich will pretty much seal up the gaps.

don't Allow your self to be "talked out" of doing a ww2 impression if you really want to do it. Interest is not Anywhere Near as Scarce as you may think.

I'm a WWII German reenactor (1st. SS Panzer Division Leibstandarte) and just buying a reproduction German uniform can be very expensive.
For example, an M40 tunic will cost you $299.99, M37 trouser $129.99, camouflage smocks you can pay up to $150.00, service shirt $59.99, East German Jackboots $29.99 not including what it will cost to have a cobbler replace the soles and heels with leather ones. This just some of the basic items needed for reenactment, alot more items will be needed to complete an impression of a German WWII soldier. WWII reenactment can and is a very expensive hobby even for airsoft players who like to do WWII airsoft reenactments. Note these prices are from www.atthefront.com you can shop around and get lucky and find the same item or items and pay less. For more information the German side of WWII reenactment, vist are web site http://www.lssah.com/

I wish there was some set group in ohio that did these wwII airsoft reinactments. I know I would be tempted to look into it, and try to be a part of it.
