All my friends want to do is shoot the hell out of eachother. they refuse to play with the one hit your out or any sinario for that matter. my team always wins becase we run them back past the line of retreat (the road) every time. has anyone ever played like that basicly no rules just mass melee? I would like to play with rules every now and then.

or you could compromise with them if they dont like one hit and play vitals. thats what we tend to play. one hit to the chest or head and arms and legs dont count. if you have trouble with people using their arms or legs as sheilds... then just put a hit limit for them.

I dont really care if the person I am shooting at calls his hits or not. All of a reason for me to shoot him more until he does :)
Yeah, when I first got into airsoft at 14 thats how me and my three other friends started. Backyard plinking is still a lot of fun, even after forming an 8 man team armed with AEG's.

Yea, when I first started at 13, we used minis in some woods behind my house, it was a nice little CQB area. Then I got a springer for my birthday, I raped everyone, so we all bought springs. Within 6 months we all had AEG's and a team of 8.
Anyways, it's def. always fun just to go out back or somehting and shoot each other. You get time to learn how your teammates play when hits don't count, and whos afraid of the small pain of a hit, and who will take a couple hundred without stopping.
I was at a friends house over the weekend and we had 4 AEG's there, we were target shooting cause he's got a long hallway attached to his bedroom, a bb hit someone so they opened fire, hittin three people, from that point on we just started shooting everyone, I almost blinded a teammate but it was all fun.

Forgot to say he's OK. The bb just hit near his eye, thankfully avoiding it though. I don't want my team and I to appear as unsafe/immature airsofters... :(

How could he be almost blinded if he was wearing ANSI rated goggles? The bb would have hit his goggles and you should have nothing to worry about.
Either its a miscommunication of words or just another incident of someone playing unsafe who needs to be educated. I hope its the latter of the two.

Since we wern't really "playing" it was just a sudden shoot out, he was wearing some saftey sunglasses, the bb slipped around the side when his head was turned. The kid who shot him was poping around a corner and couldn't really see, so it was really the vitcims fault.

I THINK THAT CALLING SHOTS IS VERY IMPORTANT. Thats because I Play airsoft to try to get a feel of what real millitary combat is like. but have as much fun as you want

Dumb move guys. You should know better. That is all I will say on the matter since you know.
As for the other matter. If you have a rule set where each time you get hit, you have to go backward for say 2 minutes without firing, and if you get pushed across a line (in your case, the road), I think that is interesting. In this case, you are fighting for TERRITORY, not individual 'kills'. You know, that is ALMOST realistic. One force continues to advance while the other is forced back. Get pushed across the line, yer out.
Nothing wrong with that idea at all. Certainly eliminates the magic bullet.

As long as everyone agrees with the rules of the game, I would imagine that any type of game-play has been done.
Hey, if you're not breaking any laws and everyone wants to do it, why not? - Just make sure it's safe and you aren't harming someone property!
My biggest concern is the attitude toward safety. I make this statement for anyone who reads this thread. To me, safety can't be stressed enough when it comes to eye protection.
Yeah, I hear you out there..."It was just one occurence", "It just happened like that once", "It forces us to not take head-shots", "etc".
I'm not making this post to 'scold' you about eye protection. I just want anyone who reads this forum to constantly think about the importance of eye protection. Accidents can and do happen and I'd hate to hear of someone losing the use of their eyesight because of their exuberance to play a game.
Anyway, hope you had fun with your 'melee' game. It actually sounds like fun.
Hopefully you can get them to adopt some rules to follow at other times to allow you to get out of this game what you are looking for.
Check out the RULES section of this site and let the other players know you want to try some rules once in a while.
