Just got a new CA33E, only put a few rounds thru it so far. For a all metal body it is a little on the lite side. But it is very sturdy with no flex. Fit and finish is good. Rate of fire is very high. Here is a picture of it along side my CA M4 and a TM 733 custom commando.

That's correct, it's a G&P Thermold mid cap magazine.. Also the M733 is missing the RIS/RAS covers .. I have them on order ..

The M15 looks the nicest out of those three in my opinion. Do you plan to right a mini-review of the 33e? I'm really interested to read more about it. Do you have anymore pictures? How's the 33e magazine working?

Re: stargate6

Well since the CA33E is brand new I don't plan on taking it apart right now. I have a few more pictures I can post, the magazine seems to work ok, I ran two full mags thru the gun (700 rounds) when I first got it. One thing to note, it came with a plastic (orange) flashhider that was really hard to get off. They attached it with what looked like red loctite and if you didn't know which way to un-screw it you could damage the barrel. Check back for more pictures.

Update: here is a picture of the CA33E next to a TM G3. As you can see the TM G3 is much larger (7.62 vs .223).

Shark, I agree the Loctite stuff was a bear! Any way I dont mean to hijack your thread, but Here is a copy of the sudo review I wrote for my website.

I got it in!!! However I haven’t had any field time with this Gun so I will tell you my initial impressions, and then I will write more about it Sunday evening....

Packaging, pretty typical for CA it is packed in a Styrofoam tray with an outer cardboard sheath. Of all of the AEG's ordered, none of them suffered damage from shipping. Included in the Box are The AEG, Clip, Cleaning Rod, Aluminum Flash Suppressor, and a sight adjustment tool for setting the Hop-Up.

When I opened the box the first thing I saw was a BRIGHT orange plastic flash suppressor, and a secondary Black aluminum FS. Maybe I was expecting too much and that let me down a little, but all other CA AEG's I have seen come with 2 aluminum FS's with one of them painted orange.

Once I got over this little bump I decided I was going to remove the safety tip and install the aluminum one... This was a difficult task, though I will never be sure if it was because I was treating it as a standard thread when it is truly a reverse thread, or was it the locktite type substance that some one in all of their wisdom put on before installing the safety tip.

Now, The safety tip is off, much to my pleasure the FS is a great design, it is threaded with a washer in it to make a nice tight seal, and ALSO an Allen key to tighten it...genius I tell you, Genius.

Next I installed the included 330 Round Hi-Cap Magazine. This mag is a nice solid fit. So solid that, it has NO play at all when it is locked in and relatively no friction when inserting it. The Magazine release mechanism is the same as the type on the CA MP5. It takes no effort to change the clip in a hurry.

To Access the Hop-Up You have to slide the cocking handle back to reveal a gear behind the dust cover. The hop up adjustment is easily turned with the "Sight adjustment tool".

If you care about trade marks, this gun is NOT for you. Classic Army avoided all apparent legal issues and did not include any trademarks on the gun.

Even though I haven’t had any field time I did shoot off a couple clips in my backyard. This thing is great, no skips, the Gear box sounds solid and it is pretty accurate. The card I had setup was about 30.5 - 38 Meters away and I was easily able to keep the shot grouping with in a 3" radius. The gun is an advertised 320 FPS, and I do believe it might be close to that, I will chrono it Sunday.

All in all, the gun is very sturdy, the hi-cap works great, and I do like this gun and do plan on keeping it in my collection.

RE: tlaan

No Problem, nice review. The only thing I didn't like about my CA33 was that the fire select wasn't real positive and I easily pushed it past the setting I was looking for. The selector switch is made of stamped metal, but it is not very well made.. tlaan didn't mention it but when you work the cocking handle it pulls back the fake bolt so you can access the hop, ala TM M15/16 series. It is a real nice handling AEG good balance and solid. It has a long sight radius (distance between the front and rear sight) which makes it very accurate (for an iron sighted AEG). The sight radius is about 5" or 6" longer than a M4A1. It is just a hair longer than a fully extended M4A1.

Then the bolt/hop cover is identical to that of the G3 series. The selector switch also sounds just like the TM G3. You can fix that by adjusting the scew on the other side. The only thing I really want to know about the CA33E is whether or not the rifle can use the MP5 collapsible stock.

I own an MP5 A2 for my collection as well, they look close, but the channel in which the retractable stock slides is narrower on the 33E. MY Partner has an A3 I plan on checking to see if it woll work despite this difference.

:( Too bad for CA. The realsteel Hk33 is fully compatible with MP5 Stocks and lower reciever assemblies. Bad bad CA!

Looking forward to that review Sunday! I too am VERY interested in buying this gun as my first AEG, but i want to wait to hear of any internal chronic problems or any defects....Anyways, on another note im 5'7, is this gun going to be cumbersome or big for me?

Ale33, the CA33 is only an inch or so longer than a M4A1. It is much more compact than the TM G3, and has excellent balance. Metal body is really nice the only question is how will the internals hold up. Good luck.

Phenomenal

Is the Word I would use for the "Battle Testing" of the CA33E First off I put it on the chrono, and saw an awsome 350 FPS out of the box. Secondly I put it through HELL running in Mud, Diving in Sand (if you have been to Florida our sand is very sandy), being shot by paintballers, etc. The gun survived all of this. The accuracy was great and it was very comfortable to carry around. All in All I would say through out the Day it had about 1000 rounds trhough it on the field, and saw about 300 more from curious onlookers wanting to shoot it as well.
