I've used those glow in the dark ones but when you shoot them, they just go too fast to follow with your eye, given the small amount of actual light that they can produce. You would also have to shoot them pretty quickly. They loose their glow fast. So in other words don't waist your time and/or money on them. They shoot just like any other bb, but the glow thing is of no real use.

There is already a thread going on about this, and probably some older threads you can search up about. I dont have one personally, but ive used one. Youve gotta consider the following: Glow in the DARK, not DAY. Tracers work BOTH ways. The amount of dark games is so rare in ohio currently, its almost a waste if you are going hard into airsoft and not playing with friends or tinkering around.

Yeah, the only 'dark' games in ohio and surronding states are mostly CQB, and tracers wouldn't be very useful there, since you aren't walking your rounds onto target are 100+ft.

I know night games are rare, but do the tracers look cool in the dark?
That's a completely subjective question "Do Tracers Look Cool..." and ultimately a worthless question on par with "which is the best gun" or "Does This Blackhawk Vest Make me look Fat."
Yes, it is cool looking, but everyone who uses them are losers...
Yes, it is cool looking, but defeats the purpose of playing a night game....
Yes, it is cool looking, but "what is cool" doesn't necessarily have a place in our society...
Yes, it is cool looking, but my back hurts...
Yes, it is cool looking, but I am the Walrus, Koo koo kachoo...
Yes, Virginia there is a Santa Claus, now shut up and go to bed you little *****...
Yes, I did have sexual relations with that woman, and I liked it...
Yes, it is cool looking, but at the same time, this conversation has degenerated to the point that Fox will eventually be forced to comment on his RPK and I don't think any of us want that....

WOW! Thanks for bashing me pretty good. Let me rephrase my question. " Do the tracers ACTUALLY light up? ( hence making them look 'interesting?')"

To me, its a 100 dollar cheap-looking silencer that just gives away your position. For plinking around at night in your backyard, I dont see a problem in getting one, if you really have a budget of 100 dollars just to screw around.
Putting a tracer on your gun in a night game is like saying "Hey you, with the 400 FPS M4, yeah I'm talkin to you! Me and my squad are over here. Come ambush us and blow one round of a game, so my squad can promptly kick my sorry *** afterwards with tree branches and plastic bayonets. Fear my n00bness"
But yeah, they look cool.

Yes they look cool. This is all being discussed here as Army Hummer said.

It all depends on the type of games your guys play. Feel free to browse over there. There are good and bad points to every piece of gear a person owns. If it fits your gameplay, then go for it. From what I understand it would not be benificial to your games in Ohio. But for us here in Chicago, the games we play, it offers a new challenge and a new dimension to the game. So some of us use them.
I know there are some videos out there on how the unit looks in the dark. You may want to search for them. If I had a camera, I would make one myself. You cant believe how insane it looks with green flying across the room when its completely dark. For myself, I think its great. For my style of play its great. To me its worth the investment. Thats just me. The question you have to ask yourself is, "do we play enough night games or indoors enough to warrent an 82 dollar piece of gear?"
If anyone has any specific questions about situations or anything concerning the unit I wouldnt mind sharing my stories or input. Send me an email through the forums or a PM. I will be happy to answer your questions.

LOL I love that! I Laugh everytime I read that.
I saw a movie where they used the glow in the dark BB's and I thought... 'nah.... ' due to just what Nec wrote... its cool, yea, but I don't think I would want to tempt fate.
much.
:-D
There are several West Coast Hobbyists groups (two of which may be seen in the Rainbow Six Special on Tech TV's X-Play) which seem to prefer the tracers. Yes they do light up, hence the name "tracers." The BBs are phlorescent and are "charged" via a small light inside the trace unit prior to leaving the barrel.
Like everythinhg else in life, it has its place amongst airsofters. They aren't for everyone, but they do add a new angle to your game play.
