Hey, I'm looking to get an AK springer, and I saw this one: http://www.icefire-enterprises.com/page44.html
First off, does it come assembled? Second, how does it shoot? Third, can you mod the internals to make it better if it sucks?
thanks

Don't quite know, but you can always fire the retailer off an email.
Second, how does it shoot?
Again, this would be a good question for the retailer. It is also a good question to look up on Google. Find out the "exact" manufacturoing name and type that into the search engine. If its anything like the other cheaper Spring Rifles, don't expect more than 60 feet of range.
Third, can you mod the internals to make it better if it sucks?

Yes and No.
Yes. You can mod anything to do anything you want it to do short of making you walk on water or anything just simply impossible. Most Spring rifles can be modified with more powerful springs to get you increased velocities, you can always replace the barrel with a higher quality barrel, and you can always clean up the seam lines to make sure that the piston works smoothly. You can take a $40 rifle and sink $100+ to improve its performance characteristics.
No. The internal structure was designed to specific tolerances, other wise they would have put a stronger sping in them. The more power you put into the system, the more stress it will have to cope with. You can easily spend $100 just to get your rifle parts that you want to get better results. All of that will increase the stress on the internal structure, reducing it to a glorified plastic prop.
I have upgraded three springers, all three of them were reliable and accurate before I modded them. My first step was cleaning up the piston to make sure that if had little or no resistance. This was done with graphite lube. It also helped to insure that the piston cup had an air tight seal and that the flow of air went to the nozzle and down the barrel, no where else.
I then worked on the slide, to make sure that it operatedx as smootly as possible. This included lubing the frame rails, the guide rod and the bushings. Any area where there would be plastic-on-plastic was lubed.
I then replaced the stock piston spring with one from the hardware store. It was a little more powerful, but did not net that much more performance than the stock spring. What it did do was shear off the internal brackets that held the piston in place. It did this on two guns before I got the spring to the correct length. What I was left with was basically a gun that got all of 300 fps as opposed to the original 260. For that, I spent $80+ and lost two good guns. The upside was that I now had two spare magazines.
If you really want a gun you can reliably upgrade, you're going to have to spend more money. It may be unfortunate, but thats just a fact of life. Is having more power really worth the effort and the risks? That's for you to decide. It can be done, with the right ammount of ingenuity and care. Given enough time, effort and money, you can make a lawnmower fly. But will it be reliable enough to take you to work?
If you want a reliable gun, stick with stock internals. It was designed to have stock internals, and you already have a limited amount of time before the gun wears out.
Good Luck.

I don't want to ask the retailer how it shoots, because they will probably give me some complete BS stats on how it shoots. Dealers are so hard to trust these days because of all the BS gun stats they use. And I wanted to know how it shoots from someone who's not a retailer, because the retailer will probably give me a bunch of BS. But, I am emailing them right now, and I'll post their reply on here once I get it.

I found a review on this gun, it sounds like it's alot better than I thought it would be. I might pick one up soon, looks like it competes with the UHC MP5.
Here's the review:

I would give this gun a "nay" vote. I own the replica seen on Ice-Fire, and I would say only buy it if you're looking for a wall hanger. The gun looks great, but it's really light, flexs alot, almost completely plastic, and the power sucks.
Beign as a Korean gun and becuase of their power limiations, its no wonder the power sucks. It is less a skirmish weapon then the UHC MP5 for sure. I have owned both guns and I would chose the MP5 over the AK in a heartbeat.
This new Cybergun AK looks more promising, as I've been impressed with their P226 and their AR-15 seems to be getting good press whereever I go. I held the AR-15 at Airsoft Atlanta last time I was down there and it seemed very good, so their new AK might be something to look into.
On Airsoft Retreat, some guy was going to buy one and write a review, s you might want to hold out for that.
But like the guy on Reading Rainbow always said, "Don't take my word for it."
