Section 8 Mercs with the help of Team Shadow Legion and Recon Team Anaconda are commemorating the Silver Anniversary of the MGM Cold War film: "Red Dawn", with an airsoft event at Synergy Paintball Challenge in N. Eaton Township, Ohio on Saturday, October 3rd. - An open event for 16 and older. Look for it soon on the AO Events Calender.

Red Dawn is set along an alternate time line in 1984. The Soviet Union and it's Central American Allies, after the demise of NATO, have invaded the United States. Occupying the American heartland, Communist forces run re-education camps, police under martial law, and terrorize the citizens. In one town a local resistance group - The Wolverines (named after it's school sports mascot), wage a guerrilla war against the occupiers. Their initial success demoralizes the regular forces and Soviet Spetsnaz are called in to make quick work of the Wolverines.- More details are in the event posting.

A lot of you were born after this movie was released........ probably even after the Cold War ended. It may seem ridiculous now, but at the time (cheesy acting aside) it was plausible. Either way, It makes for a great event and there is a surprise plot twist thrown in the op to make it more fun and interesting. Hopefully people in the know will chime in and vouch for me on that. The best way to make up your mind is to watch the movie.

We are also offering for this op to be the next NEO 3 Month Open game. I realize it must be voted on, but I thought I would throw it out there to make it easier. Regardless, this event is a go.

What is the terrain like in this field. IE; is it relatively flat, or is it more like Springfield with the big hill on the side of it?

It's relatively flat. There are some small hills but nothing like the size of the hills at springfield.

Seal Team 5 looks like we are going to make it out. But we think that the MED need to be looked at because 400-450Fps at 10ft. Thats unsafe cause that close a bb will break the skin. We think that the MED should just be rethought and looked at. Our suggestions are 350-400 fps at 20ft and 400-450semi only and at least 45 ft. thats just our suggestion.

NEW MED:

Under 10' = safety/knife kill
10' - 25' = 0 - 399 fps
25' - 50' = 400 - 449 fps
50' - 75' = 450 - 499 fps
75' - 125' = 500 - 549 fps
Over 125' = 550 - 600 fps
ALL AEG's 400 - 450 fps will be semi-auto only. Anything above 450 fps must be single shot. Guns will be tagged with color coded zip ties to show fps.
ALL Guns used by players UNDER 18 are to be 400 fps or LOWER.
single shot indoors, full auto shooting in or out of buildings.
