hey for all of you airsoft snipers out there. i am going to be making ghillie suits the way that the marine corps snipers are taught to do it. i am going to have some pictures up and possibly a video within a week or so. i will be able to make them to order by size and you will be able to send me pictures of your terrain and i will match the colors so that you will have a customized suit something that you can not get with bought ghillie suits. i will be selling them for a few dollars over the cost of materials for labor but it shouldn't be more than 40 -70 based on the amount of die material and what not that needs to be used. a great price for legit military sniper ghillies with reinforced chest knees and elbows. if you are interested let me know if you have any questions pm me or call at 330-453-7879 again i will have a picture of the one that i made for my self and possibly a video if possible. i will also include some unknown tips taught to marines about ghillies and where the best places to hide are. a list of the do's and donts of the ghillie suite and explain the theory of placing natural vegetation in your ghillie suit.

Well, thanks. This sounds awesome but there really aren't many airsoft "snipers". It is just not a great position to play.
Also, there is this little thing called a shift key on the keyboard.
But really, this will be pretty cool for just general knowledge, not airsoft.

Wasn't there some guy like 5 years ago claiming the same thing, and he vaporized when I pressed him for details, dunno if anyone remembers his name I sure don't.
Point is, while this is a nice idea, just like I told the I70 paintball guy, your marketing is weak. There are not many "snipers" in Ohio Airsoft, and not many in the game period. Also your spelling and grammar are terrible. Please try to observe at least an 8th grade writing level, as it is a rule of the forums. If you want to sell these things you should do some research first on the market you want to sell to and also making it known to your potential buyers what your qualifications are with building a gillie. Anyone can read a web-page and claim to know how to do it, but it's the people who have made hundreds of them in real world situations are the ones who know what they're doing.
To sum it up, rethink your strategy and come back prepared.

wow guys hold on a minute one i am not a scam two i am not marketing anything i am just trying to help out the people who call themselves snipers become more authentic. As far as stating that i don't know what i am doing, i was showed how to make and have made several ghillie suites under the super vision of my sergeant who is a marine corp sniper. i am not trying to make any large profits or anything but just though it would be nice to offer if any one was interested. don't know if you know or not but in every mil sim game that i have gone to there have been several people that claim they are snipers and others that are always talking about being a sniper if they could afford a ghillie suit. The grammar thing i admit i do suck at but that is because i skipped a grade when i was younger so i missed grammar in school.

By the way black fox it is ghillie not gillie stop using spell check, know how to spell on an 8th grade level would also be a rule of the forum i am assuming as it would only make sense. Anyone can read a web-page and claim to know how to do it, but it's the people who have made hundreds of them in real world situations are the ones who know what they're doing. this goes to show how ignorant you are, because a sniper will only make one or two ghillie suits. One at Scout sniper training and one at advanced scout sniper training if they elect to attend the advanced course. They will take the one ghilie suit that they have made and change out the pieces of jute so that they can change and adapt it to the environment that the sniper will be operating in.

Not to be getting in this little argument but it is not a good idea to start out here on AO by insulting well respected veteran players.

Honestly Oneshot I posted that at almost 1:30am, after working 8 hours. Sorry I mis-spelled a word. You want marketing advice? Go do some research on other markets in airsoft (I.E. states, countries), show samples of your work in your first post, with a list of special features your suits may have. Also remember to post you "SGTs" name and unit number to confirm that he really is a Marine Sniper.
Also FYI you don't "miss" grammar in school it's taught to you from K through 12th grade and if you continue onto college it's taught there too. It's a rule of this forum follow it or corrective action will be taken.

Hey OneShot,
On a note, snipers in airsoft are more of niche than a standard. Most that I know tend not to go the ghillie route, but there are always exceptions. Not to burst the bubble on the business venture, but if you look at some of the other ghillie suits on in the classifieds you'll find that they tend not to sell to well. As far as the quality of your product, I will take your word for it until proven otherwise. If you say you have been taught by the USMC, then thats awesome and glad you got the knowledge. You also stated that you would make a suit, and post picture of it. I will reserve my judgement till that point. Only fair.

Oneshot, this is meant to help not to criticize.
You not only need to research your market, but cost vs. price of your product. I built my own ghillie a couple of years back and I put about $100 into it, not to mention about 40 hrs. of work. If you plan to sell these for $40-$70 I'm pretty sure you will lose your A$$.
Another point I would like to make is that you say you want to make your would-be customers more authentic. Then why not let them make their own?..... Isn't that what authentic snipers do?
While I admire your entrepreneurial (sp?) spirit, you really need to put more thought into this before you proceed.

I in no way meant for this to get out of hand in the way that it has. To blackfox I apologize for having been so rude and everyone else I apologize for what has been posted. As far as not been able to make suits for 40-70 , well I have a person that can get me burlap and dye for very cheap. I in no way wanted to make a ton of suits I just want to make one or two. I enjoy making the suits and with out getting a few bucks out of them i would not be able to afford to make more suits nor do I need to own multiple suits. But again sorry for being so rude and I will come back with another post when I am more prepared and have pictures and a video.
