I came across the website for a new CQB field in Cincinnati on another thread and figured I'd put it up on here.

http://cincinnatiairsoft.com/

For now all the site is is a homepage giving the basics about the new field.
But I figured I'd put this up to give everyone the heads up.

Also if anyone has any further information on the new field(s) that isn't on the website, feel free to post it.

Thank you GOD!! Finally a field closer than Red Dragon, Valley Creek, and Springfield.

I believe this is the field/shop being opened up by the guys who run one of the airsoft stores in trader's world. I forget their name, but they sold a lot of stuff when i was there last weekend and was almost out of stock.

it is going to be started by extreem war zone(spelled this way). i am currently employed there bldg 11 in traders world. this place will be 2 stories, have a urban environment along with office style, room clearing areas. They are working to get it open late August sometime. If i get to take a tour, i will take photos and post them accordingly. but i know we are probably dragging a car or 2 in, and maybe some spring doors. But i'll know more down the road

A CQB arena here? That's amazing news. I'll be paying close attention to this thread, I'm eager for information on this one.

The building is in the tri county mall area. Its an old furniture store next to staples.

Holy moley. That's just a few blocks from my house. That's a MASSIVE building with multiple levels! I've been in there a few times before the furniture store closed up shop. My wife and I agreed that it was way too large for a furniture store.

I can't think of a better airsoft arena that that place.

I'll be happy with a place like this anywhere in Ohio...I'm down to travel two hours from Columbus to Cinci for some badass play.

Dutch, like I said before...get this guy up and running, and do it RIGHT! I want to see a CQB field last in Ohio.

Red i'll do my best, although i am not the person with the money, i hope they will value my opinion. From what i have seen on paper it looks very nice. And if anyone has any suggestions, PM me and i will run them across the boss. But this arena will also cater to police forces for training purposes.

That was the first thing I thought about when I realized it was going to be in tri county. I'm hoping the standards are -extremely- high.

Guys remember, the place still needs to make a profit.

Best bet would be to have 3pm-10pm open to public on fri-sun. Then let 10a-3p sat-sun be reserved for events, and let mon-thurs be available to police training or private reservations.

You guys need to understand that businesses cannot stay afloat if they are elitist. You aren't going to see a MEGAstore only selling $5-10K suits. I know they sell some of the cheap plastic guns at their traders world location, they would do well to keep that up at their store too. They are going to get all kinds in there to play, might as well make money off of it.

murph28
07-30-2009, 01:27 PM
Maybe they could someone come up with some plan to keep the noobs with the noobs and the others with the others.
Maybe use one area for the new players with the lower end guns, or maybe have certain days like "amateur" days or something like that.

Guys remember, the place still needs to make a profit.

And I definatly agree with you here, and by somehow figuring out a way to allow the noobs to play and gain experience. Because noobs won't always be noobs. And as they gain experience they will gain the desire for more intense play, and what comes with that is higher end weapons and gear.

Very true. There are going to be kids that play. But we will have times for the vets to have their fun. Also i have heard that any team willing to go up against police as the bad guys are welcome to. But be prepaired to be handcuffed. Lol. It will be a great place to play, and we will cater to all players. We will have a lot of adventures for everyone

UPDATE:
Update 30 Jul 09
- Working with a net supplier to get netting that will stop the Airsoft pellets, so we can make a fun and entertaining Arena.

- Spoke to the insurance company today and Basic safety requirements for play will be a full face mask. I am waiting to hear back concerning Max Feet per Second but it should be 385 - 400.

Thats the newest update on the webite.
Although I'm not too fond of the full face mask rule, I guess we'll all have to deal with it.

If the FPS limitation is 385 or 400, I will not be playing there. Full face mask or not, that is simply too high to be engaging each other a point blank range. Veteran operator or not, its too easy to pelt someone three feet away and possibly break skin.

Then make it a semi auto only field. Problem solved :) But then again I'm biased.

I was thinking the same thing. The top floor will be 20k sq ft alone. And again those fps limits are guesstimations. So no one get all ruffled up yet.

Regardless on what the insurance say's the field own can make whatever fps limit he/she wants as long as it does not go over what the insurance is covering. So a good suggestion would be under 350fps.

Example: The insurance will cover me (the field owner) to 400fps. I think it's to high so I make my field 350 for safety reason's. Everyone's gun must chrono under 350fps to play on my field, even though I could go to 400fps, I think the player's are safer under 350fps in case of close encounter's.

Dutch do you have any idea whether or not it was the owners decision to make the rules full face mask, or was it the insurance company's decision?

Dutch

Another Update:

But FYI Full Face masks are an Insurance requirement (no way around it). They will be available for sale and rent.

Game Requirements will be 350fps max to keep injuries down.

In select games max FPS will be 400fps... i.e. against the police if they will allow us to have non-police as the opposing force (have to see what they want).

We will keep the novice with novice and more experience with the vets as well.

That is all for now, thanks for input.

just stumbled upon this thread, all the cqb places in WPA have withered and died for a variety of reasons. I think this one might have some staying power. it will be worth the drive for me, I love CQB/ MOUT. Just one thing for the forum in general, can this " I dont wanna play with noobs " crap. All of us were noobs at one time, Veterans of the sport need to act as mentors, trreat new guys as students, not target practice. Teach them and they will make good opposition and good team mates in the future.

I play both airsoft and paintball and I greatly prefer airsoft, but paintball players in general dont treat new guys like this. oh well i'm done with this tangent

This field will do well and I cant wait to play there, might be my first road trip in september when I get back from IRAQ.

good luck

This field is located roughly 3 minutes from Exit 15 of I-75 so if you know how long it takes you to get to that exit, you know how long the whole trip will take.

From West Chester, you should not take more than 15min unless you are on a bicycle and/or live on the extreme North Edge of the city and even so.

As far as Arena/Field, If you start from Exit 1 of I-75, you have 2 fields within an hour for sure. One in Hammersville and one in Williamsburg. You can find reference here;
http://www.airsoftohio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13817&highlight=place+play

On top of that, Springfield is less than 90min away...so at the end, Cincinnati has a lot to offer already :D

Does being younger reallly make you a n00b? I was under the influence that your age doesnt matter, if you are serious about the sport, obey the rules, achieve the objective, and have a good time while doing these things then i believe you are not a "n00b".

Honestly i feel we throw the word "n00b" around more than is neccesary. How would me being a few months short of being 15 make me a n00b?
No offense to anyone but asking "n00bish" questions like "I have a 400-425 fps " even when it is clearly stated that would not be allowed. This i would deem "n00bish" if any thing. My point is that it is a common stereotype that younger players are automatically "n00bs" even if they could beat you.

An example of a younger player that is quite good is 203 ,I dont think he will mind me saying his name. 203 is a great player that is still a "kid".

I understand that this not place to be putting this but i need to get this off my chest. you can move if you wish mods.

In no way do i want to start a flame war if one is started I will just walk away.

I also apologize for any grammar problems there may be.

Are you kidding me? Dutch told you the limit for ages as well as FPS. Those are hard limits set by the insurgence company/owner. Why do you guys always ask if you have to follow them? Do you think you are special? Having people under the age cap or over the FPS cap is not only dangerous but irresponsible.

In addition being young does not make one a "n00b" (SIC). Being experienced is simple. It is one part attitude, one part aptitude. Asking questions like the ones above simply show a lack of both. I will tell you right experienced players like Blade or Evil Head (or any of the other "vets") would ever ask if they could use a replica that was to hot, or if they could still "pwn" even though they were under the age cap.

Airsoft success is simple, follow the instructions, follow the rules, and be responsible. If you can't do that then go home.

Sorry if that was abrasive, but any event/field with a cap has people begging to have the rules bent for them and it drives me (I follow them) insane.

Ok the last few posts confused about this, will there be an age limit just to play. I realize the fps limit willbe 350 and I know that you have to be 18 to play the police but what about just regular matches?

no age limit. we have different style of play for everyone. I am not going to put a person with experience with noobs just to get his rocks off.

Also Cincinnatiairsoft.com has updated. there is now a forum, where information will be listed. So get registered and enjoy

Not ANZI rated... You are just asking to loose an eye. BBs can break and go through those holes. Most event hosts I have met would have a fit if you tried to wear that.

It does look cool though...
