I have decided to rewrite my review. After dealing with the guys via the phone, i feel that my initial review was not one i was happy keeping. I will however, keep the facts of the initial transaction.

-I found the advertising confusing like most.
-I ordered the Distraction Kit with the intention to receive the Distraction Kit, Maintenance Kit, and the Spoon Kit as the 14.95 advertisement suggests.
-I placed my order and found the website confusing. After completing the order i was promptly emailed my order summary. There seemed to be no indication that i was getting anything else other than the Distraction Kit.
-Email with Adriel, which could have been the language difference, was confusing and still no good solid feeling as to what exactly i was being shipped.
-My final email was never answered.
-I was given the phone number to contact them from a retailer which solved all issues.

First,

Chris, if you read this, you did a great job pleasing the customer. Apologetic, eager to help, sympathetic to the issue. This is how a company is to act when dealing with a complaint.

As i said before, i dont look for a company's mistakes when passing a judgement; I look at how the company chooses to respond to those mistakes.

When i first spoke to Chris he informed me that the original ad was his advertisement. After discussing my ordeals, he was able to tell me that my order did infact include the spoon kit. The maintenance kit was left out. He told me that he'd ship out the maintenance kit and another spoon kit just to be sure. I was happy.

The only remaining issue i had was that i used the expedited shipping which claimed it was trackable. Seeing as how i live in an apartment who's main entry doors are locked to anyone other than residents and USPS, i have to track my packages so i can plan to be home for their arrival. Not having a tracking number means missing a package and having to track down the carrier's facility. If you've ever dealt with that, its a pain! After a few hours i received a call back from Chris stating that he could not find any indication that my original order was ever shipped. Having placed my order on the 22nd and being told on the 27th that the order wasnt actually shipped was a little annoying. However, Chris dealt with it great. He informed me that it would be expedited shipping and that the original order + the missing Maintenance kit and 2 spoon kits would be sent immediately. No big deal, i'm not going to any major events anytime soon so i can wait for it.

Yesterday evening i actually checked my mail (which is done only if i know i'm receiving something or if i happen to feel like it) and there was the original package. As Chris mentioned, it didnt include the Maintenance kit, but it did include the DD Kit and Spoon.

Seeing as how i'm an honest person, I called him this morning to let him know. I was more than willing to either pay more or ship it back when it arrived. Instead, Chris said keep them. While it wasnt necessary its appreciated. I mean, who doesnt like free ****?!

I also made mention of having technical troubles with my Tornado Grenade that started yesterday evening.

Like someone who cares about their products i could tell he was somewhat shocked that i actually had a problem. Before hanging up he gave me a "promise to call back" of an hour when Carl, the inventor came into the office. I am counting down my hour as i'm writing this.

So, while i wait for the second package to arrive I feel comfortable enough to change my initial review of Airsoft Innovations. They're down to earth small business guys looking to introduce some products, which i feel we've been lacking (those other grenades SUCK!), to make their play and ours that much more realistic. With my recent dealings with Chris and the amount of time it took to correct the issues, I have no reason not to give them my full seal of approval. I'd do business with them again.

Good insight Mav. I was going to do the 4th option because i had just recently purchased my tornado. But now it seems that i may hold off to see what happens in your case.

In Ariel's email ?she/he?

Mav, I have spoke with Ariel on the phone before about a replacement part for a tornado grenade awhile ago and its a guy. Just has a girls name, how cute...

I checked out the ad and you are correct, the second statement is a little misleading about purchasing one or the other items to receive a "free" spoon kit. Keep me posted on what turns out cause I wouldn't mind picking up on one these "free" spoons but not if I have to go through all that junk.

I'm in the same boat as you Mav. I ordered a DD kit and a maint. kit because their was no option to get the "all three for $14.95". I also got an email from Ariel asking if I had "sent the invoice to spoon@gungas.com" I asked them how I, the buyer would send them an invoice, yet to get a response. I think Ariels right, They're retarded over there!!

Mav, I got to work and explored gungas.com and they have now taken down the original promo. It now reads:

Receive a free spoon kit and spoon promo maintenance kit with each Tornado grenade purchase!

Nothing about purchasing a DD kit or maintenance kit.

Maybe they are actually mentally retarded?

Basically, the way this is working is that if you buy a Grenade from AI directly in July or August, you just get the free spoon kit and spoon maintenance kit.

If you already have a grenade and buy the DD kit or the maintenance kit from AI, you'll qualify for a free spoon kit.

The last statement is indeed a bit confusing, but from the way it was explained to me, if you've purchased a grenade from a retailers other than AI, you can send them $7.00 for shipping if you want the free spoon, or you can send them $14.95 for shipping if you want the all three 1) spoon kit, 2) spoon maintenance kit and 3) DD kit. Essentially you're just paying for the shipping the items from Canada.

I do agree though, it does sound a bit confusing. Gotta love Engrish. I'm sure that Engrish is further compounded by Asians learning Canadian English. lol

Shawn, I'd like the number to call them. I do not like emails as i feel that email gives the company a way to respond to you at their leisure.

DS,
$15 bucks for shipping for 3 free items? Well that would have been nice to be explained. Instead i spent $30 including shipping on one DD kit with no confirmed statement indicating i'm getting anything other than the DD kit.

I really dont like how there are several different responses that are being given out to different people. If i didnt know people who were retailers i'd be thinking that AI was a scammer.

Well, AI is in Canada, so internation shipping and insurance is usually more expensive. I agree, it's kind of BS that they'd charge you $15 bucks in shipping for "free" items, but companies do it all the time. Just one example is that stupid weed eater trimmer thing that you see infomercials for all the time. They give you "free" lifetime line for it, but you have to pay $7 dollars in shipping for each roll of "free" cord that you get. I'm not sure how they ship things, but most UPS and FedEx ground shipping costs are at very least $6 to $7 dollars, and USPS flat rate box I think is $5.10, unless it's gone up. Tack on internation shipping costs to that, and you can easily double shipping costs.

Anyway, I'm not taking AI's side, I was just trying to explain it the way it was explained to me. I do agree it sounds strange. I also think it's lame that they would charge additional shipping if you're already buying something from them. Oh well.

i was just about to order a dd kit as i have been wanting one for a while and now with the deal that was being promoted on the site, i was about to order one when i started reading. and got toatly confused.

and i am sorry i am all for the fun and games but for a business to reply to a customer with a line like "since we're retarded over here" which some could find highly offensive was wrong in my mind.

I'm undecided as to how or if i will edit my original post but i do have an update. I'm leaning towards leaving the original post as is for "truth" purposes, but we'll see.

I spoke with Chris of AI today via telephone as i felt that was the only way things were going to get resolved. My impression of chris was very professional and courteous. I expressed my concerns regarding the original advertisement and being left in the dark as to what i was actually shipped. He informed me that the original shipment only included the DD kit and the spoon kit however he will be sending the maintenance kit seperately. While i still do not have a tracking number i was told i'd be emailed one. I will wait a couple days before inquiring about it again.

The important thing is that they're rectifying the situation. I know people make mistakes and its not the mistakes that i personally get hung up on, its the "making things right" that I look for. Thats what shows what a company is made of. I'll wait until i receive the packages before i make any final judgements.

My situation with gungas.com is starting to show progress also. I received an email from Chris today saying that they will ship a DD kit and maintenance kit (I paid for both of these) plus two free spoon kits. This is in accordance with one of the parts of their original offer (buy a DD kit or Maintenance kit and receive a free spoon kit). I have no hard shipping information as of yet.
To me this shows they are trying at least. Their offer was difficult to understand, apparently even for them, but it seems they are doing their best to make good on it. I too will hold final judgement until my package arrives.

I finally heard back and ran into another snag. $7 for the spoon shipping but it still charges $7.70 shipping when checking out.

Posting to announce that my first post, and first impressions have changed. The problem has been resolved and i think we're both walking away satisified. Thanks Chris!

I received my package today. It contained a DD kit, Maint. kit and two free spoon kits. I too am very happy with the outcome of my order. I have always been a fan of Airsoft Innovations products and I am now a fan of their customer service. They made good on their offer and I can't ask for more than that.
