My son (who is 8 going on 9) and I play plinking games and at a farm house we have (which I'll be selling shortly) we get the larger guns out and play. All the events I've read about require participants to be 13.....
Any options out there for those under 13?
Thanks

More than likely, not many.

Really and truely, there aren't too many options. Insurance stops most fields from allowing children under a certain age to play. Not only is there risk of injury to the child, but there is risk that the child may make a poor descision and hurt someone else. With that said, you could look for private games or teams around your area and see if the two of you could join in sometime just to get him some field time. I can't say they would or not but that is your best option at this time.

No where that I know of would allow anyone under the age of 12 to play. All of the insurances for airsoft or paintball started at 12 years old at the least. Some were 13 and 14 as well. Unless you host something private for your son, you may have trouble finding a place until he's a bit older.
Good luck though. :)

I'm not surprised by these answers, especially that someone this young may make bad decisions (although his father is more likely to make those than he is :p)
If anyone in the Dayton area is interested in a fathers / son game and has a field I'd be very interested (as would my little guy). I just sold a farm that we used to play 1:1 at.... 3 buildings and lots of trees.... was fun but it's gone....

Vinton county allows kids to play from 11 and up. That is the youngest so far I have seen.
