Has any1 heard about the pistol only revolution? people who use GBB as a primary weapon in "at least 80% of skirmishes". what do you guys think of this. Now i realize there are tacticle advantages to using a pistol over a huge bulking AEG in some scenarios, because I used to do this before i owned an aeg, i would just play with a CO2 pistol and i normally owned, but i would never imagine going up against a team of fully automatics. Anyways, now I'm more experienced and I'm considering buying a GBB as my next gun, I was just wondering how many people do you normally see playing with only a pistol? And what kind of tactics can you take advantage of with a pistol? i mean other than being more agile and sneaky, i guess im just trying to get a helpful thread going for people who use pistols only, and i hope it doesnt get closed cause its peoples "opinions" on best tactics or something..... also since i've never owned a GBB, how long does, lets say 1 clip (talking about the kind of clips that hold gas on 1 side and the bb's on other) last, like about how many rounds could you put throug it, ballpark. I'm just curious, if i find a gun that loads green gas directly into the gun rather than clips i would much perfer that type of gun because i never use my clips equally.

My friend only uses a gbb pistol for his primary. He is a little weird, but he hates aegs. Anyway, he does quite well considering the odds. Anyway, he is extremely sneaky. He is very good at getting behind the enemy. When using a gbb it's very important to get behind the enemy or attack from a posistion they aren't expecting. Also, he has learned that if multiple people are in the same area, it's probably a good idea for him not to attack them. Also, he uses 1 clip per round. Now he only gets maybe 1-2 kills, but still can be an effective way of attacking.

Yea, back before i bought my AEG i mainly played CQB in a large barn my friend owns, i find it is very easy to flank people do to increased mobility, lack of sound created from slings and clips, and the shortness of the gun makes it perfect for edging corners. I only use 1 clip as well most of the time as i will reload it when behind cover, something i have down to an art now being able to reload my clips 5x faster than any of my friends lol(which is something pistol only players need to be very good at). But i always carry and extra 3 clips of 15 as backup for sticky situations

This is an old thread, please don't post in it.

This thread is chock full of fail.
Asking for opinions, personal preference, poor spelling and sentence structure, and bastard use of "clips" etc. That being said, let us take a look at your debate for just a moment. Then it will be closed.

Never heard of the "Pistol Only Revolution" as an entity within airsoft. Using any form over another is best left up to personal preference and skill. And that smacks of an "Opinion thread."
Now i realize there are tacticle advantages to using a pistol over a huge bulking AEG in some scenarios, because I used to do this before i owned an aeg, i would just play with a CO2 pistol and i normally owned, but i would never imagine going up against a team of fully automatics.
Tactical advantages are largely ergonomics. You are carrying a smaller weapon. Which means you have the potential to aim and fire quickly as opposed to a rifle or carbine. I say "potential" because not all pistols are created equally, so giving you a "one size fits all" answer is not possible.
Gas guns perform differently, even some guns of same manufacture may not give you the same performance. There is not really a uniform set of variables here. Some guns are accurate and reliable out of the box, some guns are powerful, some guns are weak.
Some players are absolutely useless with a handgun. Others don't have the self control to accurately fire a handgun. There are several additional variables on this which will affect your ability to use a handgun. These differ from person to person.
Unfortunately the second half of your "sentence" is where you begin losing me as an audience member. Since you "owned" with your CO2 gun, this comes more across as bragging than you wanting to discuss your actual issue. Granted you lost much of the credibility with me at this point, but let's move on, shall we.
Anyways, now I'm more experienced and I'm considering buying a GBB as my next gun, I was just wondering how many people do you normally see playing with only a pistol?
This is a loaded question. For the purposes of Milsim, the pistol is normally used as a secondary. When your primary is down, you draw your secondary. If your secondary is down, you draw your kill rag. If your kill rag is down, you beg for mercy. This goes from discussion to "what gun should I get very quickly and it tugs at my heart to close it right now. But I won't just yet.
And what kind of tactics can you take advantage of with a pistol? i mean other than being more agile and sneaky, i guess im just trying to get a helpful thread going for people who use pistols only...
Hmmm, what kind of tactics. When you see the enemy you shoot them. Easy enough. You can be sneaky with any weapon, it all depends on your definition of being sneaky. I used to fake a weapon going down to draw target closer and engage with my pistol. That was sneaky. Or use the primary to draw the enemy to your position, thinking you were engaging part of their squad then when they realize its just you shooting into the air and that the majority of your team is overunning their base. That's sneaky. Or leaving an unopened can of pop on the trail and shooting whomever picks it up. That's sneaky.
and i hope it doesnt get closed cause its peoples "opinions" on best tactics or something
Ok. You know threads that ask for "the best" are considered Opinion posts and that they get closed, yet you still post asking for them. Nice.
..... also since i've never owned a GBB, how long does, lets say 1 clip (talking about the kind of clips that hold gas on 1 side and the bb's on other) last, like about how many rounds could you put throug it, ballpark.
To answer this question, you will need to do research on specific guns. There is no universal answer to this.
I'm just curious, if i find a gun that loads green gas directly into the gun rather than clips i would much perfer that type of gun because i never use my clips equally.
This type of feature is normally found in NBB guns. While there are some blow back guns that do this, the vast majority currently on the market that offer this feature are CO2 powered and quite low in quality.
Lastly, you are using the "clips" term, which greatly anger airsofters. Why, because it just does, trust me on this one.
So there you go, thread closed. You have a few additional things to think about and some homework of your own to do.
Buh Bye....
