Hey I was just wondering about Battle Front open plays. I remember a while ago there was a thread about open plays there every Tuesday and I was wondering if that will still happen? or maybe there all ready are open plays there that I don't know about. So I would just like to be informed and who ever is in charge of these open plays I would hope gets the word out by either a thread or an event on the calender.

The guy who usually sets them up, Tim Capp (Person7) can no longer do them for tuesdays this summer as he is know both working part time and is a lab assisstant. I personally would like to do them myself except I'm going to start working for Wal-Mart on the midnight shift soon so I have no idea what my schedule would be like. People who like to set up open plays themselves can talk to Tim about it to see who to contact and such.

I was the one planning on hosting games at battle front, but as Garcia said I got another job, so I was hoping to get some one to take that over for me...
If anyone wants to step up feel free, I will be able to make it out there around 5pm if someone starts hosting them.
Currently I am setting up a game on the 21st, (check for it getting posted) after the paintballers are gone but besides that I would love to see some weekday games going, but since I am at work until 4:30 I thought that would be too late to start games.

Battlefront games look amazing and they aren't very far from me.
I would love to see some getting set up.
I'm too young to host my own, though.

Yes I am also too young to host them I think (I am only 15) but the only problem is my sister will be working 5 min. from there and she will be giving me rides since Youngstown is a bit far from Lakewood. Any way since she is working I will be there 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. I am willing to wait a few hours until noon or so but any later is pointless for me.
So is there anyone else that can host them or at least set it up with the guy at Battlefront?

i sent them a myspace message, heres what i said ----
I was linked to your site from Airsoft Ohio, and they claim that you have airsoft, or days dedicated to only airsoft, or something of that nature, I found nothing on the site or calender of these types of events. If I could get some more information that would be great. Myself and about 5-10 friends play localy in our woods and stuff and we would like to go places to play on better fields, we only live about 25 minutes away and if there was a monthly "airsoft day" or monthly matches i can assure you we would probably be attending all of them
they replied ---
In general airsoft days are setup ahead of time. We are a paintball field, but we will allow groups to reserve the field for airsoft events. You can call us (look on the website) and talk more about this if you would like to schedule something.
We are also working on splitting the field up into a few smaller fields so that private groups, and airsoft, etc could play on regular days, rotating through different fields as paintballers, private groups do the same. We have not finished this yet though, so in the time being give us a call.

so maybe sometime soon they will be having regular airsoft open plays

Wow. Thanks Odin for contacting them. We could still call and reserve Tuesdays for airsoft like what was planned until they split up the field...right?
and Odin...if they do start having airsoft open plays, hopefully you or someone who regularly goes there would post it because I have only been there once and really don't know much about it.
Alot of these questions have already been answered.

(I hope this isn't considered a necro-post)
I emailed Battlefront yesterday about doing an open play during a weekday and this is what they said:
"We are open Saturday and Sunday for paintball 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Airsoft usually plays at about 4 p.m. If you want to play during the week (Tuesday or Thursday) it would have to be after 5 p.m. or a $150.00 deposit a week in advance would be required. Anyone under 10 years old needs a parent at the field while they play."
So it seems an open play during the week isn't very likely.
read his email..........
there are three ways to play
weekends after 4
weekdays after 5
weekdays anytime with a 150 deposit.
It seems to me that games anytime would be likely.

John,
For me I live an hour and a half away and I don't drive. The only way I could get out there is when my sister goes to work Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. So for me, a game is very unlikely.
Also, has anyone done the $150 deposit and if so, how did they get the money?

A job.
Unless someone can take you out at the right time, I would say that your chances of attending an open play, which are generally held at the same, specific times from week to week or month to month, are very slim. This is an expensive hobby and one that has to adhere to specific times of play. Unfortunately, if you can't make it at those times, you're sort of out of luck.
Just a suggestion, when an event comes, see if anyone is driving by you that would be able to give you a ride.
I took the Email as meaning the $150 deposit was required for play before 5pm on weekdays, so if you show up after 5pm there is not worry about the deposit

So they are open to airsofters Tues/Thurs after 5pm, or Sat/Sun after 4pm? Because the email they sent me they said they only have airsoft matches sometimes, and they are normally like special events. So if they have matches on after 4pm on Sat/Sun, both me and my friend are willing to go weekly. Does anyone know the turnout of weekend airsoft games?

Usually good. 20 total on average maybe. I'm hosting a game this sunday and so far theres only 6 but that could change by week's end.

I'm saying in general really open plays at battlefront usually pull in 15-20 players.
except for neo days.
don't forget about walsh farms guys.
If you watch the schedules you'll find you can play airsoft once and even twice a week in the NEO area.

So if I just decided to go like next saturday, no event or nothing, on saturday/sunday after 5pm, there would probably be like 10-15 ppl there?

Unless there was an open play or event actually planned there, then no. Any games that happen there are usually announced here on AO, and have to be alerted to Battlefront's owners. Besides I think they usually do events for paintball on saturdays.

Ok, thats what i meant, you guys were confusing me. I didn't know if they were like open to airsofters on a regular basis or if you had to call and alert them. Thanks, I hope you host more events there.
you need to read the event calendar on these boards as well as upcoming games forum.
