Read the heading. Heheh. Op: Irene.

Operation Irene was a national event that took place over the weekend (multi-day event) down in Georgia, near Atlanta. It was rather unique in that each side was commanded by an actual Army Ranger. Charlie Company was commanded by Col. McKnight (many of you should recognize the name from the movie Blackhawk Down). Delta Company was commanded by MSG Mullen, also of the Army Rangers. There were multiple daytime engagements and a night engagement with night vision in use. As far as I'm aware, most if not all of the profits went to the families of fallen soldiers of the blackhawk down situation.

It was loads of fun and there were actually quite a few ohioans and A.O. players that showed, including players from Strikers, BSTAB and EZ Company.

Stand by for pictures, there were tons taken. :) It was an awesome weekend. :)

Irene was awesome. Not much more can be said. John Lu ran a good game. There were small glitches but that is to be expected. The respawns were used by both sides, which created guerilla forces in your rear if you weren't careful. Also in the last scenario, since the enemy knew the extract points, it became impossible to get out the POWs because the enemy could wait in strength.

Still, the event went great Didn't see any traps tho. Heard rumors about em tho.

Assets and TAC were at the game as well. Overall, it was very enjoyable. A few things cropped up here and there, but it didn't ruin the day. Personally, I learned a lot. I also discovered that there is some seriously hard competition outside of Ohio. I can't wait till next year.

I wasn't happy (for reasons only known to a few ;) ), but I would probably do it again. Great seeing everyone that attended :)

Great event. Meeting McKnight and Mullen was memorable. My hat is off to everyone who attended and contributed to such a worthy cause.
