so i was going to get a red dot scope and mount...but i saw this:

i know...it mite be kinda booty, but if it is worth anything...is there a way i could somehow take down the front sight on the mp5? i cant see the point of the red dot if it would still hit the front sight...(sigh)i guess ill still consider scope and mount.

Myself, i like it. Not to mention it would work on a G3 as well. But For the price and all thats nice for a sight like that. As for a way to take down the front sight, I have seen things to get at WGC that flip down and what not. or you could do what a member on my team did and just saw it off and smooth it. :)

from the way it looks in the pics, you will co-sight with the front sight. the red dot will appear just above the little nub if you mount it right. but if you wear a mask you might have to get a claw mount. now i dont have a MP5, but i have an M4 with an Aimpoint replica mounted on the rail, and i think it is easier to sight with because you have a referense point (front sight) to base the placement of the dot on.

in the case of the MP5, you will use the rear sight also, which can be even better for well placed shots. that way in a sense you have 2 things to aim with, the red dot and the metal sights.
