i have some questions about those 5 hour chargers. how do you know when the battery is fully charged? also, will the charger stop charging after the battery gets fully charged? is it alright if i leave the charger plugged in w/ the charger still connected to the battery for 8-12 hours? thanks. i charge my battery either at my friend house or at power edge and i think it's time for me to get my own charger.

just do a search on this site, im almost positve you can find the answers to your questions. but yes, most likely you can leave you battery plugged into 5 hour charges and leave it alone. i have one and it works fine. the charger will turn off once the battery is charged, so you can leave it plugged in for however long you would like.

If this is the charger from radio shack that 7.2/9.6 volt charger, then here are your answers:
A. You will know its charged by over-calculating it up ahead of time slightly so you know how long to time it
B. The charger stops charging after 5-6 hours depending on the NicD or NiMh option.
C. I leave my battery, an 8.4v 2400 mah on my charger all night simply beacause it stops after the 5-6 hour period, so 8-12 youll have to take the charger out and unhook battery - rehook battery and put it back in the plug
