i recently was in the market for a mp5sd6 orsd3 i would like the sd3 becaseuse i here it is more confrotible. More Importantly i want to know which one woule be best. I want full metal so tm is out. On den they are selling ics guns upgraded to 400 for around 300 but i know that airsoft Elite is the the same company as ics. on top of that what is the difrence between ics and airsoft Elite and where would be the best place to get them?

Airsoft Elite AEGs are just upgraded versions of ICS guns, usually a more powerful spring and more metal bodie parts. They are both great working AEGs but I prefer the already upgrade AEs AEGs.

oh i must have miss worded what i ment to say let me try again what i realy mean is that i have herd mixed reviews of all mettle mp5's. I was wondering more or less wether any one has purched an ics mp5sd3 gun from den and how does that compare to ae mp5sd3. Further more, which do you reccomend for the best deal?

First off, I would recommend the AE guns over ICS. The AE guns are pre-upgraded (I have a version 3 gun that shoots ~400 fps) and have better internals than the ICS guns. The v3.5 guns supposedly shoot ~320, but mine was advertised to shoot ~360. Go figure.

Secondly, I cannot see the Den site from here at work, but there are two good places for AE guns here in the States.

Plycon's Armory (http://www.plyconsarmory.com) is where I bought mine. Great customer service and I was very pleased with the price.

Airsoft GI (http://www.airsoftgi.com) had a really nice "package" with a battery, charger, sling, etc. also at a good price. Customer service was a little lacking though.

I think you have your numbers confused.

Airsoft Elite guns are NOT supposed to shoot 400 fps. There are several version of AE guns, the version 3 and 3.5 being the most desireable guns. The v3 guns were advertised to shoot ~350. However, it turns out that they do shoot closer to ~400. Mine averaged 397 over 10 shots. My understanding is this was the result of AE using .25 g BBs for chronographing purposes, not the "standard" .2 BB.

So then AE starting getting complaints from LE agencies who used their guns for training. Apparently, during CQB exercises, the BBs were inflicting more pain than expected (all this is from a conversation with Tony, of Plycon's Armory) so they released the 3.5 version. This gun is identical except for a weaker spring. It is advertised as shooting at ~320 fps, but I don't know if that is with .2 or .25 gm BBs. I did see one post (here I think) of an AE 3.5 owner whose gun shoots ~380.

In short, if your goal is an MP5 that shoots ~400 fps, I don't think you HAVE to go the Den route.
