I am getting a long type M203 for my Proline M15A4 carbine with a RIS. The question i have is for the front mount of the 203 that goes to the Barrel cutout. What mount would work for that purpose? i want to have the front of the launcher mounted to the barrel to more evenly distribute the weight of the 203, even though most pictures i see dont use the front mount they only use the RIS mount to the rail.

If anyone here has a 203 and uses the front barrel mount which one do you use? I just want to be sure that the mount i buy is going to be long enough to reach the connecter part of the 203, i really dont want to waste my money on the wrong mounting accessory. the CA Quick Detatch mount is the one i was looking into getting because i want to be able to take off the launcher to use a different configuration like a front grip or bi-pod.im just not sure if it will be long enough to connect to the 203 and barrel.im just looking to see if anyone here has any experience with this, Thank You for the help in advance.

I do not believe that mount will work in this situation, as the M203 shown is the barrel mounted version. You can tell this because the lower handgrip has been removed to install the barrel mounted M203 and the M203 is much closer to the barrel than a RIS version. Something similar to this mount, which would be longer to reach down to the front of the M203 rail may work, but I have not seen one.

I have tried a RIS mounted M203 on my M4 and will be purchasing one this coming week. It had a solid fit on my RIS handgrip, but my RIS is a free floating unit that is mounted to the upper receiver threads. This makes it a much stronger mount that will not loosen over time, like I have seen happen to delta ring mounted RIS units and for this reason, I feel comfortable using it without a front rail support.

It actually doesn't loosen the delta ring and stays sturdy for me, but on my M16, I have a mad bull free float RIS and it is Very sturdy!

What brand of 203 do you have? I would prefer getting the front mount that is the same brand of the launcher.
But I have an extra one i could sell you, I think it is a TM.
