The contract is being drawn up that will release 50 acres to us for use as a dedicated airsoft field. Todds Scuba Sales at 1182 Island Rd. in Circleville and myself have entered into an agreement which will allow us to open the field up to the public by the beginning of the season next year.
About the field:
Field is flat for the most part with lots of open ground covered in high grass. There are outcroppings of trees scattered around with a vein of trees going down the center. There is a small pond and a few buildings. What makes this field is the fact that there will be electric available, water available, camp grounds are already in place with hook ups, a shower house, (yeah, I said shower house) consessions, and porta potties. We walked around the field yesterday and across the whole field we only ran into a spot or two where there were briars. We have permission to build whatever we want including a store front to sell BBs, batteries, gas and other consumables. Field is bordered on 3 sides by creeks and one side by Railroad tracks. No need for the confusing caution tape.
As this field is going to be set up to make money, I am dedicating 60% of the field strictly to airsoft. 39% of the field will be used for airsoft and paintball. And the remaining 1% I am planning on building an R.C. track.
We are hopng to have access directly to route 23, but that is undetermined as of yet.
Pictures have been taken and I'll post a link up as soon as I can get them up.

1182 Island Rd Circleville, Ohio If you google map this address it is easy to find the field. Directly south of the marker you'll se a large lake. If you look to the right of this lake on the other side of US 23 you'll see two identical ponds, the area east of the ponds is the field.
Sounds like fun cant wait.
Please keep us updated. Good luck.

Here's a link to the field pictures. There are over 60 pictures of the field. Should give you guys an idea of the field in its current state. There are also 3 pictures of the ariel photos we picked up at the Pickaway County Engineers office.

Congratulations on the new venture!!
Thank you, sir. To think of the work we put into our other field and it isn't even close to what we are wanting, and now we have a blank slate to work with. It's going to be alot of work, but we are game. Especially since moving things around on the field will be so much easier.
Sounds good. I might have to jump in the pond :)
Or you could go next door and do some snorkling. Pond may be a little nasty to be jumping in to swim. But if you really want to you can. Both Copperhead and myself are certified rescue divers so we could pull you out if need be.:)

Yes, well it is kinda at the quarries. We actually have the adjacent field to the east of the quarries. But they are next door to us. We will more than likely be using their driveway for our access road. But the quarries themselves are not in play. We do have a pond though, and if you want, we can put you down as the first ever amphibious assault...umm...unit at our field when we open.;) Heck, we could put an objective at the bottom of the pond.:D

We will do our best to see that it is. Right now though it is just a bare field.

that field would be sweet if you pout a couple sniper towers, like the new one just built at red dragon, in the open areas...i think that field could be a really fun field to play at

Grease Man, next time you're diving on a weekend, come on back and see us. We would really appreciate any suggestions. (Pulling it off was actually pretty easy. We are friends with John and Copperhead will be working for him as grounds keeper.)
Shorty, we agree with you. We are planning on putting up at least one tower. I don't know if we'll be able to do that before we open or not though. But it will be coming.

Looks like one big ball of endless possibilities! If you need any help with anything just let us know! Between all of us I'm sure if we put our heads and muscles together we could get alot done- ha ha. Good luck with it!

Good to hear, we are going to need lots of advice and lots of help I'd say. I keep trying to break the land down into small sections and focus on what I'd like to see done to one small section. That doesn't seem to be working very well. The map I have is a black and white ariel map taken in 1993. Some of the trees you can make out on it, but alot of them weren't very big at that time. What it's going to come down to is driving stakes and running lines.

Hehehe, I'd give you a couple days due to the size and the thick weeds in places. But I can do ya one better. We have access to the tractor with bush hog attachment.;)
Let me ask you guys something, we are obviously going to be putting up buildings. We just about have to. If we were to put up a tarp structure would you guys play through it? It has been suggested to me to set posts up in a grid formation and hang tarps for walls. The tarps could be re configured to make rooms different whenever we seen fit. I personally thought this to be an excellent idea and would play through this type of "house" myself, but the field isn't about what I would or wouldn't like to do.

I could see that as being fun but not as much fun as a real building with solid walls that you can lean against.

Kevin do you think we can get together on the 25th to do a walk around with me and moose?

Black Se7en, I think we could arrange that. I'll get back with you after this weekend.
jsnell, that is what I was concerned with. Keep in mind though that this would only be one or two "buildings" that would be like this. The rest will be solid walls. I just thought it would be neat to have a structure that the layout could be changed or removed completely.

The idea of having a "tarp house" sounds great. Especially when added into the mix of the other buildings. Great idea!

As of this time that has not been discussed. Ideally I would like to have an open play once a month and a milsim type game every other month. However, we may open the field up for open play every Saturday, providing there is no other game scheduled; for those needing to get their airsoft fix.
