Are there any external upgrades available for the MP5 SD3? If so, can you get a red dot scope and a tac light on it?

One shot, don't tell me to sign on AOL on the fourms. Just email me. If people try to reply to this, they may read yours instead of mine, and not answer my question.

newbie-
you could open that puppy up and put in a stronger spring, or even cheaper- you cuold put a few washers on the base of the spring to compress it more, but this and any other internal upgrades will quickly erode the famous durability of the SD3.

Thanks for the input, but i'm looking for EXTERNAL upgrades.

just get a normal red dot if you want. just get a cheap one for say... 40 BUCKS!!!!!!!
i don't know if you wanna do it but go ahead.
There's already a low rise mount just infront of the sights. just hook it on and volia!
but i highly suggest doing something about that spring. and if you want take a crappy spring pistol that feels good to hold and cut off the handle and exposy it to the foregrip for that stupid moldy grip and spray some military black paint over it.

D'oh my bad!
a dual mag clamp may not be a bad idea, though I'm uncertain as to whether or not they will fit.

The bb's fall out of the mags (when out of the gun) when you turn them 90 degrees, so that sorta wrecks the idea of a mag clamp.

yeah i know- check my profile.
press the spring in the mag all the way down to the bottom of the mag, then place a small strip of black electrical tape on top.
when needed, take off tape, switch mags, and then press switch.
assuming the clamps will work, this will speed up your reloads.

My buddy bought a cheap 4x15 scope that he put on his UHC MP5. It looks pretty good on top (though I don't see many real MP5's with scopes).and provides ample magnification of the distances you will be shooting. I thought it was a pretty good buy for about $10-15.
Here's a link to a similar scope from the same place: http://www.blowgunsnw.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=BNI&Product_Code=1804
I would assume you could get a red dot on it, I'm not sure about the tac light. A sling is handy too...

ok uh... how should i explain this to a lower lifeform...
"martha stewart's how to make pistol foregrip"
look at the spring pistol
you see all of it riiight?
good
now look at the bottom half, the part you HAVE TO HOLD!
cut that off (if you hate it enough, but it feels good right?)
get some exposy (plastic glue stuff) and glue it on the foregrip
and paint it over with some nice black millitary paint you can find at your local army surplus store
it's a good thing

Epoxy?

See epoxide.

"Exposy" :) sounds like a game you may play with Mary-Jane Rottencrotch in the hall closet when you're supposed to be in gym class :)

This may be more reinvention of that proverbial wheel but...
Today I tested the TM mp5 mag clamp with 2 MP5sd3 mags- the thing works like a charm- providing you feed both mags before playing, and tape over the top of the second mag. most places have them about $20
and this will speed up your reloads- a huge improvement for springer matches. with that scope that Knight recon mentioned, you would have a pretty badazzed looking springer!

seriously. the scope looks pretty good on it, and with the mag clamp (something i had been wondering about for a while), and a decent tac sling it would be pretty dominating weapon in a springer battle (assuming it's not too much of a CQB situation).

back in my springer days, I put a Tasco Red Dot scope on my UHC Mp5sd3, and mounted eye screws (i think thats wut theyre called) for slings. Also added a lotta weight. Heres what you gotta do:
Scope:
If you have a dovetail scope like my tasco, theres nowhere to mount it, so I took a razor and patiently sawed away at that square shaped mound of plastic just in front of the sight. Make sure you measure the height and deepness till you get a tight fit. Don't overcut it or you wont have anthing for the scope to grip onto.
Sling mounts:
You can buy at any hardware store eye screws. I think thats what theyre called but its shapped like this: O----- get two of those with 2 bolts each and drill a hole in the foregrip, put one there, and then other one you wana put through the endcap where the stock pulls out from.
Weight:
This step will require you to open up the gun, so be careful, as everything inside it under some pressure from springs and stuff. My advice would to be take a picture of it right when you open it so in case pieces go flying you know where to put things. One last thing: when you open it, make sure the left half (looking at it form the back) is o nthe table and you're lifting the right half off.
Its really simple. Just buy some Crayola Model Magic and a box of airgun bb's at your local sports store (the real metal bb's that you shoot with C02). You wanna patiently mix the clay and the bb's till you have a night heavy composition of clay and metal (the more the heavier) and then pack this stuff into any open space you can find inside the gun. If you do this right you could add a good 3-4 lbs on your gun.
Have fun! =)
PS. In case you dont like that plasticy look, buy some Krylon Camoflauge Paint in flat black paint and spray that sucker down. She'll be the best springer you've ever held/seen! =)
