EDIT: The gun is sold!

I am selling my BAR-10 bolt-action sniper gun. I am only selling because I have decided to build my TM AUG into a better gun and now I need to justify the expense to my wife.

I am asking $250 for the whole package. This price includes shipping.

CLICK HERE (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c2DpqJfTkOk) to see a YouTube video of this gun shooting through some cans. I filmed the video today (Sept 19th, 208). You also can click any image for a huge/detailed version.
EDIT: According to the Poor Man's Chrono (http://www.airsoftretreat.com/reviews/showproduct.php?product=71) the gun shoots 500+fps with the 150 spring. With the stock (130) spring it is shooting like a new gun.

Included with this gun is everything in the above picture and the preceding list, plus absolutely all of my spare parts. This includes extra hop-up buckings (King Arms, etc), spare upgraded bolts, a spare stock barrel, barrel cleaning cloths, barrel jamming clearing rod, original BAR-10 owner's manual, spring guide, wrenches and tools, and other things I can't think of right now. Some of the things included in the miscellaneous upgrades include several of the free DIY upgrades like trimming the piston brake and carefully teflon sealing the hopup and other parts, a shooting level (http://www.airsoftforum.com/board/Leveling-Playing-Feild-t121336.html), custom barrel spacers, replacing fasteners with quality ones, lots of money spent on the very best silicon and Teflon lubricants, some BBs of various weights, and all sorts of other stuff that I can't remember at this time.

One of the unique things about this gun is the custom built 300rd hi-cap magazine I fabricated for it.

This is a fantastic addition to the gun. Compared to the wimpy, jam-prone little 30rd magazine, my mag is like a g0d among insects. You can read all about it HERE (http://www.airsoftforum.com/board/Custom-Built-300-Vsr-bar-t121332.html). You probably will never see another one of these again. I prefer for my guns to look less intimidating so that other players get a false sense of confidence. (That is why my gun is not painted... plus I just love the factory finish on the stock!) With this mag I never have to reload. I never have to worry about running out. When I play I like to shoot a lot. I use the gun like a 'mostly hidden' designated marksman. That means a whole lot of crawling and a whole lot of shooting. This magazine is the absolutely amazing piece that completes the package.

Very briefly about me. I am an adult who loves airsoft. I have been playing for what feels like a long time. My other hobby is restoring/rebuilding and occasionally racing (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sH9wt6USU8g) vintage race motorcycles (http://mightymichaelis.com/pictures/fang/07.12.13_t350_finished/t350_40a.jpg), and I have been doing that for about 20 years. My home workshop is a small machine shop. Having said all that, I am an extremely detail-oriented, meticulous kind of guy. I invest dozens and dozens of hours into working on my stuff, and I am not happy with it unless it is PERFECT. I currently work as a writer, so please forgive me for saying a whole lot. For me to you, more information is better.

About the gun. I bought this BAR-10 in June 2008. I have spent countless hours studying and understanding it. The BAR-10 is very simple, yet full of extraordinary potential. It responds very well to being correctly sealed and aligned, and likewise responds poorly when these things are not as they should be. I am selling the gun with a stock spring in it. I bought a 150 spring and have shot it some with this spring. I have included a link to a YouTube video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c2DpqJfTkOk), and the gun has the 150 installed for this video. The gun began to "slam fire" with this spring, so I removed it and replaced it with a stock (m130) spring. To use the M150 spring an upgraded piston and upgraded sears set is required. This will likely cost about $30-$80, or less if you can find the parts used. I was looking for a used Zero Trigger. Either way, the gun works great with the stock spring.

Skirmishing with it, it shoots straight and far. I personally love the FireFly hop-up bucking. I believe that it is one of the most difficult buckings to install, but once it is right, it works great. I recently made a 150' "kill" through fairly dense bushes; that was a good day. My very best target groupings were 5 shots shooting 0.28g Bs within about a 2" grouping at 100' feet. That was abnormally good. Normal-good would me more like 5 shots in about a 5" grouping. That is assuming the gun is clean and working correctly, there is no wind, and I am firing from a supported prone position.... Your results may vary. Bla bla bla. At this moment the 130 spring is in the gun. I just now went out to my yard, set up 3 coke cans at 100', and from an unsupported (standing) position, while shooting 0.28g BBs, I was able to quickly hit all 3 of them in 4 shots. The gun really is very accurate!

My BAR-10 is an excellent gun. It is solid and ready to go with no problems. I believe it is THE ideal gun to learn how to become a sniper, and it has all the potential to meet even the most demanding needs of the most discerning marksmen. With the time and money I have already invested into this gun it will be enjoyable and reliable as it, or with just a small additional investment it would be a spectacular skirmish dominator.

I am willing to entertain any serious offers, but no trades. I accept credit cards through PayPal. Please feel free to contact me to ask any questions.

I do not intend to part it out. Thanks

EDIT:
I have received some questions about buying only my custom 300rd magazine. I am willing to sell it separately for $65 - with free shipping. Because I recognize this is a unique and hand-built item, I will offer a 3 day trial guaranty with it. If you don't like it for any reason, just send it back in the same condition. Easy!

I am absolutely convinced that if you want a hi-cap for your VSR or BAR-10, then you will simply flip out about this amazing piece.

I will sell the gun without the magazine for $190 - with free shipping to the US. Or with the magazine for $250 shipped. The gun has two magazines. One stock one and one hi-cap. No matter what, the gun will be sold with at least one magazine.

I prefer PayPal, and can accept credit cards. PayPal is good because it protects both the seller and the buyer; actually it protects the buyer more, and I am OK with that.
