AK vest

Does anyone know of any vests that are specifically made for AK's?

I have seen the Tarzan M22 model in action, while its not as stiff and suportive as vests made by BHI and other such makers, it does function well and holds the AK mags specificly.

Do you know if Blackhawk Omega mag pouches hold AK mags?

Yes they do, but you must buy one of the newer productions with the adjustable mag pouch lids. I believe its every vest they made after 2001 has this.

I use BHI vests now...


I orignally bought a true russian Tac vest... but the BHI ones are so much better. So much more back support and such (Which does come in helpful when you have a 17-20lb gun.)

I was into russian vests for awhile, and woulda got one had I already had an AK (the plan is to get one as soon as possible, and have the best of both worlds, an armalite and an AK). I was looking at the M32 PHT or something like that, $90 overseas, but had free shipping (still does till september 1st).

Thing that set me off about the tarzan style ones was the lack of a hydration pouch on the back, and I don't think the M32 had one either.

Plus I decided I'd rather spend money on an AK first anyway...

Going with a BHI modular version of the OMEGA vest to allow for use with an armalite or AK, plus, I can move everything else around too. But this is in the far out future.

The Blackhawk DOAV will fit AK Mags

The New BlackHawk Strike system also has AK mag pouches that will work with any Molle compatible vest

Tactical Tailor makes AK pouches as well

SOE and London Bridge have dedicated AK Vests.

I think a modular system is the way to go if you decided to go with something other than the AK.
