I was firing my MP5 SD5 when I accidentally loaded a hicap worth of .12 bb's and I noticed when I fired it from my gun the bb's were going crazy. I've never fired .12 bb's into my gun before and is wondering if my hopup will be okay or if the bb's will permanently screw it up.

I cant be 100% safe on this, but your probably alright. The reason we dont suggest .12's in AEG's is A. it will suck because of hop up throwing them everywhere - no accuracy and B. most .12's are low low quality and arent really made for anything worth more then 40 dollars. So B is what could hurt you. I doubt with just a highcap it will do much damage or anything. So i wouldnt worry to an extreme extent about it. Best bet to do, is just see if it still fires properly your bb's .2 or higher.

I musta fired a few hundred .12s through an upgraded AEG-works fine with .20s and .25s still. And I will never do that again, lol.

does it take an hour to fast charge an 8.4 v 1300 MAH battery? cause my friend trickle charges his for at least 4 to 5 hours. any comments on that because my charger starts blinking when it reaches its peak charge

I use .12g BBs to clear out lubricant after cleaning and for general test firing, because they are cheaper. I hadn't considered that they would be lower quality enough to damage the gun, but it seems to fire .20s just fine still.

Army Hummer brings up a VERY valid point his 2nd reason. The low quality craftsmanship of most 0.12 gram BB's can harm your inner barrel. Since they are NOT tested for roundness quality they OFTENTIMES have a sharp edge or other imperfections that can scar/harm your barrel.....ESPECIALLY when using a Systema, KM TN, or Promethus tighter bore inner barrel.
They arent bad on stock barrels as they have not coatings and have a larger bore (easily replaced at harldy any expenseas to boot). However, if I had a replacement upgrade barrel, I would never use them.

I did a little search on airsoft players and it said that .12 bb's can ruin your gears. is that true? if it so how come cause its not getting through to my head.

Well, if an evil .12 gram BB ended up materializing inside your mech box, that could reak major havoc on your gears ;)
But seriously, it probably has something to do with that soeculation that, due to their lower wieght, and imperfect shape, there is less pressure or resistance from the BB as the piston moves forward and pushes the air. With less resistance from the BB, the piston, in theory, would acctually move forward faster and allow the entire system in the mech box to move faster, therefore putting more stress on the gears.
However....
The difference in BB weight/pressure resistance/etc. would be so minute, it would be indistiguisable. I think that is more of an "urban legend" in airsoft than pure truth.

so should i not use any type of .12 gram bb in my p90, even though the ones i have right now are premium grade?

Well, remember, TM AEGs are speced to use .25 gram BBs (Thats what they come with)
While .2 grams also work fine for them, .12 is just way too light. Your hop-up wont be able to improve their accuracy or effective range because they simply arn't ment for AEG use (except Adcadamy brande AEGS *shudder*).
You CAN shoot them, but after a few feet, they will be rocketing strait up into space...

even though they might not be accurate at all, will they hurt the gun by any means?

Well, acctually yes. It depends on what brand of .12 you concider to be "premium grade"
The only ones that I would find acceptable would be TM .12 gram BBs and seeing as they are about $6 for 1800, there isnt much of a price advantage over .2 gram (at about 3500 for $12).
Pretty much no other makes of .12 BBs are designed to the standards of higher grade .2, .23, and .25 gram BBs like those made by Excel, TM, AE, etc.
IMO-I wouldn't risk it and stick with good BBs. With the next to same price, lose of accuracy, and chance of damaging the gun internals, I see no advantage to using .12 gram BBs in an AEG.
