My friend is a major history buff, and is lookin into gettin airsoft WWII replicas. he wanted me to find out if they made a m2 carbine replica. I think I might remember seeing it somewhere. Also, i believe one of the guys on here has a site for airsoft WWII replicas. If anyone knows it, please help me out. Thanks

Isn't the M2 carbine just a select fire version of the M1, with the possible addition of some type of muzzle brake?
There is that new 8mm M1 Carbine, but I believe it basically boils down to a bolt-action type of shooter, ie: not semi, or full auto, but needs to be cycled after each round. I also believe one of the members here on AO owns this particular rifle, and was rather fond of it :)

No M2 carbine, I figure that is Korean< era anyway. There is only the M1 carbine, a gas gun, bolt action unlike the real one.
Maybe it would do, I mean, should be identical-the real one was basically the M1 with a full auto selection anyway, I believe.
A guy in AO owns the M1 carbine, SecretAgentMan-and I nearly did, was hooked on it for a long time before I realized that I wouldn't want a gas gun as a primary (even as a sniper/sharpshooter, I'd rather have a PSG-1 or a spring).
Oh yeah, it shoots 8mm bbs instead of 6mms too. Real wood body, lots o' metal, etc. Search if you want more info, its been discussed.

bolt action?.....
this doesnt look like a bolt action, and it appears to be a gas m1 carbine...

Very interesting!
Another item I noticed in that video, is that it looks like it's ejecting shells. I think the best thing to do in this case is ask SecretAgentman :)
Is the M1 carbine semi-auto? and does it use some type of ejecting shell?
Another thing to consider, this may be a classic airsoft M1 carbine that is semi-auto..

From my knowledge, there was a shell ejecting model made along time ago-but the only skirmishable version is the newest, the 8mm bolt action gas version-Sure the gun shouldn't be bolt action, but it hella is despite its being gas-no semi auto at all.
So Gooch, it is bolt action. But it ejects no shells at all-has a 13 round magazine.

the confusion stems from the real steel being a semi auto, and the 8mm marushin airsoft is a GAS/BOLT operation- you draw back the bolt, but instead of a spring, gas pressure is used to propel it, and thus the air piston, forward.
still would make a decent sniper rifle- if you don't mind the fact it's untrue to the original and also a carbine (though this is airsoft- having different models is largely cosmetic anyway.)

skitelluride531- first....the subject of WWII replicas has been discussed quite a bit here already! :) Take a look around and you'll most likely find the info you seek.
This thread http://www.airsoftohio.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1190 has quite a bit in it. As to your direct question of an M2 Carbine...no there is currently not one made. You could convert the current M1 to LOOK like the M2, but it would not be able to be made to function full auto.
Alpha-you are correct! The M2 is exactly that, a select fire M1 with muzzle brake! And YES I AM rather fond of my 8mm Marushin M1 Carbine! :D And yes it boils down to being bolt action and not semi. Which turns out ok in my book as a worthwhile trade off for the power output gained.
Maynard-After my experiences in the field using the M1 in several games so far and puting well over 1,000rounds through the M1 I have NO problem using it as a primary weapon! Just be sure you have a quality backup as here in AO the M1 comes with a 100ft min engagment distance!
Alpha, Gooch, or anyone else seeking info about the previous versions of the M1 Carbine and the newer versions take a look at my post on this thread http://www.airsoftohio.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=853 and that should fully answer your questions about previous models produced.
Any other questions? :)
Oh and Maynard...the current Marushin 8mm M1 Carbine holds 14 rounds..not 13!! ;) :p Sorry just had to pick on ya a bit.

NEIN!!!! I remember you saying that it held more than stated on retailer's websites when you first got it-but I never saw the follow up to that-so I just assumed I'd be safe and stick with the 13, lol.
My main reasons for not buying the thing, included the price, and the fact that I'm rather new to airsoft, and don't think I'm quite suited to go snipering (new word, lol) so early on. My AEG will do for now.
Glad to hear you like it!

That might be the Marushin/Maruzen (can't remember which) plug fire version...

Actually that appears to be one that I covered in my previous post about the different M1's that have been made. :)

As far as web pages, check out http://www.ww2airsoft.com
I believe it is run by the Chicago Airsoft Association.
