Anybody have any ideas of places to play anywhere in central ohio?? All of the fields in ohio are in the extreme north, south, east, or west. Or they are closed. Or they are hostile to human activity. So does anybody have any clue what-so-ever of any place to play at all in central ohio? I don't have any money right now, but I would definantly be a BIGGG supporter or anything made in central ohio. Maybe we could start a new place from scratch? Maybe theres a place we could rent? Maybe somebody knows about something in central ohio? If anybody wants to do ANYTHING for a park in central ohio, I'm going to go to all the games possible. If you have any information, please post it! Thanks!!

Most teams in central ohio as well as the rest of ohio have private fields. Thats why open play fields like conquest will go under.

Not to sound like a jerk, and I am going to sound like one, but Columbus had a great place to play and that was pissed away. Now everyone is moaning that they don't have a place to play. What's going to make the next place any different than the ones that already failed? If players in the area don't support the local fields, then you're left hanging. Starting thread after thread about how we need a place to play isn't going to solve the problem. What should be talked about is how nobody supported a Columbus field and it had to shut down. Dozens of players crawled out of the woodwork to post how sad they were about Conquest closing. Most claiming that they were going to go there but had not. Well, intentions don't pay the bills.

Places like Springfield survive because of the devotion of players who put their blood and sweat into keeping it up and running. It survives because teams put on events there not for profit but to keep the sport alive. Quit complaining and do something. Don't expect others to do it for you. Until someone steps up in that area, you are going to have to travel. Sorry!

I couldn't agree more.

When you have a field in your back yard don't take it for granted. Not to sound like an *** but from seeing the games every week at conquest to me it looked like it was there for the money, not there for the thrill and for the passion of the sport. Look at Springfield, look at red dragon, how often do they have games? They may have one MAYBE one open play a month, with the rest of the events hosted by a team, a team that has passion and is doing it for the continuation of the sport and field, not for profit.

I tried to state what I meant as clearly as possible, if its confusing I will do my best to straiten it out.

I'm not trying to complainn about not having a place to play, I want to start one, but I can't do it by myself! Just looking for some help doing it.

It takes a lot more than you think to start up a field. You just can't simply get the area and "play games" you have insurance, waivers, safety measures in place, alert the local pd, get games running, and all that ain't cheap

Yeah, I guess I'll just have to wait for somebody else to do something...sorry to make you guys mad

Rupture, you didn't make anyone mad. You are like everyone else, you just want to play. If you really want to help, try setting up a carpool group in your area. Share a ride and gas and get others out to play and support the fields that are open. There are plenty of organized games going on through October. The day will come again for central Ohio for now you'll have to travel.

Alright, that sounds like a better idea then trying to get a whole field together...I'm sure something will come up soon. I guess I'm just overanxious to play. Still, sorry if I made anybody mad! (I'm a noob, so I say a lot of noob things. :P)

I would invite you down to our field, but I see you are in Mansfield. That's still going to be a drive for you. But then again, Chillicothe is two hours from anything.

Does Springfield carry insurance? I have a feeling Kim does not carry insurance for her Atv and dirt bike riders, so at the same time I would assume she does not for airsoft.

That's a pretty bold statement, what does it have to do with the topic?

I don't understand how like no one on here can use their own yards? 7 of the 8 people I play with have 2-10 acres to play on, that we can use at any time, doesnt anyone on here have woods and stuff in their yards?

For backyard games with local people I went to HS with who didn't want to sink a lot of money into airsoft, I frequently donated my property as a playing field. However, they weren't quite as interested in the sport as I am and were mind-numbingly easy prey. I could solve the problem by hosting a more competitive event here, but I'm not exactly keen on telling the entire world my address. I imagine this is why more people don't use their own property as a temporary airsoft field.

I know a guy, my baseball coach, whose sick rich and owns 90 acres of woods near his house, that he co-owns with 1 other guy, tat id be able to use, which isnt my address, and no one lives there, so that would be good if I ever held one here...In the spring I may do it, im WAY to busy at the moment...

Now the problem with this is, when asking to use someone else's land most people leave out the part where there might be 30-ish people, some of which you have never met and may end up wrecking the place(not that most of us here would, just saying). The other problem comes when someone gets injured, and the blame falls upon the owner of the property for not enforcing safety rules and stuff.

It's good of you to try to make the sport more accessible, don't get me wrong, but you can't exactly volunteer someone else's property, even if they initially would be fine with it.

Everyone knows a guy with land that might be a cool place to play.

The problem is not everyone knows how to organize. Half of the guys posting in this section don't even bother to read posted rules to know that there are requirements to even post your "Place to Play" in this section. Most of them don't even have a clue about what it actually takes to promote a safe place to play.

The only time anyone seems to actually pay any attention is if threads start getting locked and infractions go out.

That being said. Read the sticky'ed rules and think long and hard about whether or not your friends friend who owns land would even qualify to be posted on here and whether not said organizer can fulfill the basic requirements to list their field in this section.

NO? Then you have no business advertising a field in this section.

Thread closed until people can start reading a few sticky'ed posts and following the guidelines posted in them.
