HFC
PROS--
They offer higher FPS than UHC pistols, but most models do not have hop-up. The materials, balancing, and design are also superior in some ways to UHC pistols.
CONS--
Extra magazines for them are rare.
BOTTOM LINE: Good quality, good design, good looks, but since most guns do not have hop-up, they suffer range.
UHC
Most of their spring pistol designs are copied off of Mauri designs.
PROS--
All of their guns include the hop-up system.
CONS--
UHC pistols are made with cheaper materials with less quality control.
UHC Magazine problems.
BOTTOM LINE: Good for new airsofters who are just getting into airsoft.
Not as well made, effective, reliable, long-lasting, or good-looking as Mauri guns.
So if I were you I would go tokyo marui pistol.
Here are some marui pistol retailers.

"most HFC's don't have hopup," my ***. only 2 out of the 9 HFC guns i own are without hopup. POSSIBLY 3. I have no way of confirming the 3rd one in question either way, but if it doesn't have hopup, it obviously doesn't need it. the two that don't have it were made before HFC started adding hopup to all or most of their pistols, and they're great even without it.
"extra magazines are rare," eh? then tell me why I had 4 M-16 mags for my HFC armalites, 2 for my HFC colt .45, and 2 for my HFC USP. and would you also mind telling me why airsplat has all of the following HFC gun extra magazines?
Beretta 92FS
P99
Glock 33
Glock 17
P226
P228
P229
Colt .45
Enfield L85A1
Mac 11(that "bullpup" machine pistol thing)
MP5A3
M-16
XM177E2
wow... those really are rare. one website alone has extra mags for 13 HFC guns, but they must really be rare. Hmm... every HFC pistol they have, they also provide extra magazines for... lemme tell ya, that's rarity rearing its ugly head again. Oh... well check that out. They also have extra magazines for all the HFC rifles/SMG's they sell too! HOLY ****, THAT'S RARE. CHECK OUT THE RARENESS ON THIS ONE. IF THAT'S NOT RARE, I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS! ALL THIS RARENESS IS GIVING ME A HEART ATTACK!
yeah, i'm being a smartass... no ****. well maybe if people didn't constantly lie about HFC guns, I wouldn't have to be a smartass or respond to anything that they say like this. but they continue to lie, so I shall continue to do this too. Oh well...

Well, as far as rifles go, there isn't a huge selection of guns you'd want to skirmish with. there are the tokyo maruis which are supposed to be the best, but i've never tried them. HFC makes an M655, 2 M-16's, an XM177E2, and an Enfield L85A1, and an MP5A3. the MP5A3 comes with a pump that can be removed. as far as i know, they all have hopup. i've personally seen and fired the M-16's and the XM177E2, and an M655 is the same type of gun. they all have hopup. i'm not sure if the enfield does or not, but it performs similarly to the M-16/XM, so it probably does. and like I've said many times, if it doesn't have it, then it obviously doesn't need it. I have no clue about the Mp5A3. some people says it does, some say it doesn't. i haven't seen or shot one, so i can't say for sure, but most likely, now that HFC has started putting it in most of their guns.
as for UHC, they only make one rifle: the super 9. they also make an MP5SD3, which is a submachine gun, but that's it. they're currently working on another. the SD3 is supposed to be very good, but I haven't yet seen it live up to its reputation, and I've seen and fired 3 of them. one jammed on every other shot. I didn't abuse it or anything, there's no way i could have. it sat in its box from when i got it until the first skirmish when i tried it, and it started jamming after half an hour. the other two SD3's i've seen and shot jammed about 2-5 times every magazine or so. So... people say HFC jams all the time, has no hopup, is weak, and is flimsy and undurable. on the other hand, UHC is supposedly wonderful, but I've only experienced the exact opposite of what people say. My UHC beretta, though, hasn't had any problems. the only problem is that it's not as durable as any HFC gun. i dropped it onto a wooden floor ONCE, and it left a 2 inch crack in the slide. my HFC pistols, however, have all been dropped multiple times without any effect whatsoever.
