Wait what? Is it because you don't want to stay there all saturday or is it because of financial issues?

Wow, I'm sorry to hear that. I really liked going there...
Out of curiosity, why is it that you are shutting down the field?

I know, it's just always sad to see an airsoft place go...especially local ones. I only lived 20 minutes from Conquest.

There comes a time when you have to cut your losses and move on . I never thought conquest was going to make me a million dollars but i did think it would pay for itself . Its not .... Im done paying out my own money to keep the place open .
Plus my family wants to do stuff with me and right now i cant because i have to cover the field every weekend . My landlord doesnt want anyone but me to run it because too many rules get broke when im not there . I want to spend time with my wife and kids more then i want to play airsoft .
Airsoft was my hobby . Now its my job . I have to spend most of my weekends babysitting and listening to people ***** . Its not worth it to me anymore .
I hope you all can understand why im walking away .

I understand, you have to do what you have to do. It's just sad to see it come to an end.
Well it was fun while it lasted.

Yeah I get it also. I'd do the same if it were me. Thanks for keeping it open as long as you did. It helped me get into airsoft. It was great playing with the people that went. Thanks

This was my and Battlefield's first place we've played and we really enjoyed playing with the great group of people there. Thanks Widow and the rest for a good time.

Well, sorry to hear that. Its sad to see a field close, its not like there are alot to choose from. To be honest, if i'm involved with hosting an event, i never even count the guys who say "i'm comming with +2 or 3 or 5 or w/e number" they never come and if they do, its only if their mom can give them a ride. Thats why i dont like games that appeal to the younger population, they just arent reliable and dont follow the rules.

Maybe with its absence people will come to appreciate what they took for granted and perhaps you can host games from time to time and pack the place.

Widow,

Sorry things didn't work out, but you did give it a good strong go of it and you should be proud of that.

Hope to see you out on the fields again soon though.

NOOOO!!! We never made it back up there!!! With my baby girl being born and my wife had a very complicated pregnancy, I couldn't go very far from the house. Now that all of those issues are gone, so is Conquest. Well, Widowmaker, I hate to hear you're shutting the doors, but I can understand why. Thanks for giving us a place to play while you could. Maybe you and Puddkiller can make it down to Chillicothe for a game sometime.

everyone says someone should open a field... but won't it just take the same fate as conquest... I mean everyone was pumped for that, yet it went down hill...

Man, Conquest was the only place I've been to. Now I gotta find somewhere else to play, and cause Conquest was the nearest, I doubt Im gonna be able to make an hour trip to and fro every weekend like what i did at conquest. I understand where Widow's coming from though. RIP Conquest.

i dont mean to sound like im nagging you and i am truly not trying to be offensive in any way.......I was thinking and would suggest, if the building is not being used for anything else and was just sitting there, you could talk to you landlord and maybe try to host a large game every 2 months or so. This way it is far more likely a large amount of people will show up. If you do not have enough rsvp then just cancel the event and no hurt is done. just a suggestion as it might help bring in revenue if you just rented it for one day and charged a little bit for it. This may help your financial situation. If not from what Ive heard, the place seemed to be fun while it lasted

I may be naive and also not know the whole story, but I was thinking the exact same thing. Heck, even Blade and Slayer don't try to host games or have open plays at Springfield or Red Dragon every single weekend. If they did it would probably have the same result. Players like playing with large groups, that's just the reality of this sport.

Widowmaker, can you elaborate on this? Did you guys try having games less frequently?

Torque, I am not hosting every weekend because I would be divorced by now :D
