I was wondering the same thing Fox. Didnt the old SP M40 have some strange gas system that broke all the time or was that an after market bolt for it?

either way i bet its based on the same system the ACM L96s are

That was the aftermarket bolt, you had to replace the valve with an aftermarket one.

The main problem with the SP M40 was the short bolt. It made it extremely realistic, however only one company made after market springs, and they only made about 500 of them total, so it was physically impossible for anyone to locate one about a year after.

Now, on that note - to tell you how much work I put into mine:

PDI trigger - Try to find it
PDI Hop up unit AND barrel
PDI Re-enforced bolt, piston, spring guide.

Unfortunately the only thing you could do is cut down an APS spring, however the tensions were not the same - so it was very impossible to cock.
