This may seem to be a stupid question but while i was reading a review they said

"First, the M4RIS only comes with two rail covers—meaning that if you want to remove the vertical fore grip and use just rail covers as a fore grip you only have two, when at least three are necessary. This practically forces you to use the vertical fore grip and, while the vertical fore grip is comfortable, I sometimes like the feel of a regular M4A1 hand guard—so having three or four rail covers would be nice. Also, the vertical fore grip allows you to put more torque on the forward barrel assembly, causing it to loosen more frequently. You’ll need to regularly tighten the retaining ring that attaches the barrel to the receiver, or you’ll wind up with barrel wobble."

i always thought the foregrip was detachable, what does this person mean when it says you'll only have two railcovers instead of 3??? is part of the horizontal grip going to be missing or something?

It means exactly what it says, it only has 2 rail covers. Rail covers just cover up the rails, but they only have 2 because the side rails aren't used stock, but the top and bottom ones are used by the dummy laser box and the vertical grip. The review is about the M4A1 RIS not the M4A1. Both guns are made by Tokyo Mauri

Yes, the verticalgrip is detachable. Whoever wrote that review was very biased in his opinion because he feels that holding the gun without the vertical grip and on the exposed (i.e. not covered) bottom rail is uncomfortable. You don't need another rail cover on the bottom in order for it to work properly. It was just the author's opinion, which he should have mentioned. His wording does sound a bit like you "need" another cover, but you don't. If you remove the vertical grip and hold it like a regular M4, you will just feel the lower rail on your hand. Some people find this uncomfortable. I don't mind it at all...

i have a an M4A1, and i am eventually going to get a RIS for it. i noticed that you said on the TM RIS, the 2 side rail covers are dummies. does that mean that they dont come off or that the side rail dont get used that much? because if they dont come off im screwed with the way i want to setup my M4 then.

I think I said dummy laser box, and the side rails have nothing on them when you buy the M4A1 RIS, but you can use them. if I had the M4A1RIS I would put the laser box on the side, looks better IMO.

Ok, here is how it comes.

The TM M4 RIS comes with a RIS fore grip that has 4 rails on it-top, bottom, and 2 sides.

It also comes with a Fake PEQ1/battery box, a vertical fore grip, and two (2) rail covers.

All of the above said items (vertical grip, batt box, and two (2) rail covers) are detachable and can be placed on any of the 4 rails on the gun.

As the gun comes, the Vertical grip is on the bottom rail, the batt box on the top one, and the rail covers on each of the two (2) side rails.

There, that should clear everything up
