Team Name

Me and a bunch of guys have been playing for a while and decided to form a team. We are planing on practicing and going to all the big ops this year, and eventually maybe going to op:irene. The only thing we need to figure out is a team name. We are currently thinking about calling the team The Dark Angels. Me being a warhammer 40000 fan, I think of Giant Space Marines. My friend however says that the name is a bit Gothic. Opinions?

Its your team, not ours, be creative and choose what you and your team like! Thats all thats important

However,

when i think of Dark Angel, it makes me think of that show in which the lady was the main character or the gay vampire... Also, what are you Dark Angels of? Are you anti saviors of Airsoft? Are you dark skinned Angels?(No offense intended to anyone at all!!!!!)

Since you asked for our opinions i will suggest "The Mavricks"
Maverick - Being independent in thought and action or exhibiting such independence.

It has meaning(which not following the bandwagon is *almost always a good thing!), its got pizzazz, and its a tribute to a great person like myself ;)

On a more serious note it is your team not ours. But it would help if you gave us more information on the team. Weapons, BDUs etc.

Why have a team when you could have a guild?

You could name it S.P.E.A.R.S.

Before you select a name for you team you have to think about what you stand for, how serious you are about milsim and where you see yourself going. If you show up to a milsim event with a team called Giant Space Marines you'll be the laughing stock. If all you're going to be doing is playing with some friends the name would be ok. If you don't know the direction of your team you should figure that out before trying to come up with a name. The name of your team reflects on who you are and what you're about.

Oscar couldn't describe it better. you choose a name that reflects YOUR group. It is almost like choosing your callsign. You get a name that fit you and if it is that hard to find, perhaps you need to find what you are before finding what your name will be called.

After much consideration we have decided to be called Task Force S.P.E.A.R-shaped Light Grey Eagle-Strikers 2nd Battalion 3rd platoon 1st squad also known as "The Fighting 277th TFSPEARSLGES". (pronounced Tisspeargles)

If you really like warhammer 40k, go with one of the legion names. If you don't know them all, Look it up on wikipedia. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_Marines_(Warhammer_40,000)#The_Legions)

Truth be told, I'd stay away from the legions. I'd stay away from Marines altogether. A lot of Space Marine Chapter and Legion names are used by a lot of different people in Airsoft and Paintball (albeit unknowingly).

If I was you I'd go with an Imperial Guard name, considering the "modern" army we have is pretty much equivalent to an IG regiment.

Cadians are an ever popular choice
Catachans if you want to be rambo
Mordians if you want to wear dress uniforms in the field
Steel Legion if you want to wear trench coats and gas masks


etc etc etc.
