Lately, I have grown interested in the POR (pistol-only revolution). So far, the only AO member that I know that is in POR is Battlepriest. How big is it in Ohio, and are they any events in Ohio that are POR events?
Thanks.

Battelpriest went out of buisness with his T.A.P.S.S facilty.
Im not a POR,
but I am all for a POR event!
specially with my 1911!

P.O.R. isn't that big in Ohio, as previously stated, the only person that really practiced this was battlepriest but he had to get out due to money situation. I believe sunbury was going to put on a pistol only event, but I do not know what became of it.

The Friday Night event? Yea, I remember seeing it. Well, guess POR's not for me. lol It's not big enough for me (I know what your thinking, don't say it). And also gas is WAY too expensive.
I usually use my GBB for a side arm.
but green gas is expencive.
and I really dont like paying for shiping and handling for
a can of green gas.
that is why I have none.
edit:
to answer dubs question
Im using one of those hand held computers.
and I have very limited space for tryping right now.

why?
do you
insist
on putting
each thought
on its own line?
is it
a haiku?
actually the thing with POR is that you are heavily effected by weather, to a greater extent then AEG's are. also most magazines are around $30 a piece and only have a limited number of rounds. there aren't exactly hicaps for GBB's.
P.S. a Mk.23 NBB by TM can be made to plink people at range.

Yea, Battlepriest is pretty much out of airsoft now. Earlier this year, we tried to help him get Pistol Only competitions up and going via his TAPPS events. TAPPS was the tactical airsoft practical pistol shooting event which unfortunately never got enough players to make it a success.
After it was clear that people weren't showing up, Battlepriest closed the doors and I think he was pretty upset by what occurred and gave up on airsoft. I don't really blame him. A LOT of people were saying "Yea! I'll definitely shot up!!!". It was so bad that at his first event, the ONLY people who showed up were spectators there who wanted to watch the competition.
Needless to say, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know when something isn't working. I would be incredibly skeptical about pistol only events of any kind taking place in Ohio any time in the near or remote future. That's really unfortunate.
Darkstar out.

I remember all the hype around the TAPPS. What a shame. I don't understand WHY people don't like pistol only events. It feels a lot more realistic than an AEG will ever feel (unless you use a TK blowback rifle).

eh... the failure of TAPSS could be attributed to several different factors, not all of them battlepriest's fault. simply it got going at the wrong time of the year.
I wonder if there could be somthing like TAPPS set up at conquest.
And one of the things with is if you are going to set somthing like that you need to have a back up finaciall plan. It would be interesting to see wheres hes at now.

its TAPSS, and I betcha if you contacted battlepriest and were serious about getting it together, then he might show you how to setup one up and maybe donate the old equipment.

I would love to support the guys up at Conquest with like that. It's only a short drive there. But I would much rather talk to Puddkiller and widowmaker about it first.

I wanted to go to the TAPSS things that Battlepriest had, but Cincinatti was a bit far for me to go. If it was at Conquest I'd be able to make it and would try to get to it as often as I could.

You should come up on a free play day at Conquest. If you want to have some pistol only game all you have to do is ask. Widowmaker, Puddkiller and the rest of team Conquest will play almost any game.

alright, I am going to post a poll and see if there is interest in a TAPSS reappearance.

Dub4lyfe, I can probably tell you right away that you will get positive feedback from the poll. ALTHOUGH, take the results with skeptism and DO NOT INVEST MONEY just yet. As you probably know by now, Lot of players say yes to something but when the time to get out arrive, they do not come out.
Battlepriest learned the hard way so let's learn from the experience....

well I wasn't planning on investing too much, if I recall BP still has the timing equipment and targets for TAPSS and was willing to donate them if people were honestly interested in furthering TAPSS.

well, I would not try to make thing worse by starting another TAPSS with HIS equipment and trying to get it for free.... ;)

Dub, not to rain on your parade but people tried this already and it didn't work. Just like blade said, at first everyone is optimistic and say would like to do it, but when it is finally time to pony up and pay to do it few people pull through.
The thing you have to realize that is people can basically do their own TAPSS at their own homes, with some old pizza boxes and a stopwatch for free, so there isn't much unique that would draw people out to want to pay for it.
Oh and AFAIK Battlepriest sold off all of his airsoft stuff, so he probably won't be of much assistance.

oh I know, but if I remember correctly, he was willing to donate the timing equipment that he had, I don't think anyone bought it.
P.S. I am trying to build on other people's failures.
