I started playing airsoft in early 2000/late 1999 (can't really remember) with coworkers and friends of coworkers, we called our team "Stormblade". I started a website called Airsoft Cincinnati which was a basic forum that we all used to communicate and organize our local games at my parents house in Goshen, OH. We played with spring guns that we purchased from a guy up near columbus who also ran a junkyard. Shortly afterwards, I met Blade and Punisher on airsoftzone.com, and they met us at my parents house before one of our small games and showed us some AEGs, we were hooked. :) They were just starting up airsofttoys.com, so I purchased my first AEG from them, a TM FAMAS SV. This AEG is still my only AEG, and it has never let me down, even after beating the crap out of it and putting hundreds of thousands of rounds through it.
Soon, we started getting members from all over Ohio and neighboring states, so I converted the site over to www.AirsoftOhio.com in early 2001. You can see the early beginnings of Airsoft Ohio here:

In late 2002, I opened an airsoft store.
I have to say I have been proud to be the AO admin since the beginning, to see it AO grow. It is one of the few regional forums that gets global mention and recognition, and that is because of our great memberbase, mods and admins. AO has weathered several successful hacking attempts (which caused me many hours of stress and hardwork), but we always come back stonger than ever. :)
