I have seen so many people w/ broken loader sticks out there. Many dont feel like blowing 10 buck for a new one...some just buy those nice electric auto loaders...but some like to stick to the old stick.
I just got a Classic Army and as many know they send a Hi-Cap mag and no loading tool thinking we'll never need one. Well WRONG...I also bought a few of the new G&P mags that hold what 130 rnds...me and a friend will use an auto loader when at a game, but at home, im screwed.
Getting to the point.....I set out to find a loader where im not paying 10 bucks and shipping for...My answer was a broken arrow found from my old archery days. I hack sawed the ends off and what do you know, a bb rolls nice down the shaft of the arrow. Then i found a wood stick, the kind you can buy at a hardware store for a few cents. broke it off where i need it to be at. Filled the arrow w/ bbs, held it up to the mag and slammed 125rds into my G&P mag. yup...i was 5 bbs off because i took off like one inch too many.
SO all you need is...
-1 aluminum shaft arrow, you can get @ Wal-Mart or any sporting goods store.
-saw made for cutting pipes ( or any small toothed blade )
-Metal File (to smooth down the edges)
-some form of rod long enough and strong enough to fit down the shaft
-Measuring device to make sure your cutting to length.
Some Lengths...
130 rnd mags...cut to 31 inches
60 rnd mag...cut to 39 cm
30 rnd shot gun shell...19.5
Just always keep in mind 5bbs = 3 cm and you can cut to match any Mag.

I am working on trying to find a way to add some form of o-ring to the it, but ive found that by takeing the edge closest to the retaining pin ( or what ever its call that keeps your bbs from fraging out of the mag ) and pushing it in first, followed by resting it evenly against the opening of the mag, theres little to no chance of chewing up the mag. Ive been doing it for the past 3 days and there is no new significant scratchs apearing. If you file the edges down well enough, the shaft alone should not be hurting the mag.

I really don't see the point, come on...what do you save? a couple of bucks...maybe $4 cheaper? I bought a loading rod for $8 from AST.
They don't break if you use them properly. I've never seen a broken loading rod at my field. Mine has never even came close. But it's really had loading G&P mags with it, which is why I bought the M18 Smoke Grenade BB Loader. That thing is crap, waste of $30. Although it does load the bbs, it is not worth the money.
I heard the electric loaders strip gears from time to time. Did you know they made metal gears for electric loaders. That is SAD!, they make upgrade parts for a BB loader. Torque-Up gears for 0.43g bbs, Standard for 0.2/0.25, and High-Speed for 0.12g...oh and also a "high-flow valve" :p (just joking about that, but they really do make metal gears for loaders).
TM is coming out with a new BB loader, which will be included in their 552 AEGs. I believe the loader will be sold separately as well.

I agree with Texx. My son loads mine. The only real use that I have for the loading rod is to whip him with it if he isnt fast enough. I cant stand waiting on my reloads.;)

He is not a jerk, he was mearly correcting your mistake. Mags and clips are WAY different. And so many unknowlegable people make the mistake so offten, I don't blame him for getting a bit upset, I would too, cause so many people get it wrong. It would be like calling a colt .45 automatic a "revolver" or a MP5 a "rifle". Its just a pet peeve of gun nuts like us :D

A lot of the people call them "clips" from the old video games. I haven't played duke3d in a long while, but I believe they called them "clips" there. I remember there were a few other classic FPS games like that.

Alot of people just don't know that a clip is different than a magazine. A clip feeds a magazine and a magazine feeds the gun, there, simple right?
I too get peeved when people call magazines clips. Maybe DumboRAT should make another sticky topic so that noone will make the mistake again, just an idea though. You don't have to listen to the three legged dog

M4A1: First of all, I don't generally tend to involve myself in flame wars, or personal insults on the net, frankly, because they are kind of pointless. Secondly, it was a JOKE(you know *insert laughter here*).
Finally, if you ever, EVER post anything like that again, you will be banned, no warnings.
There are other ways to express frustration than to type profanity(or little dots taking the place of profanity).
Oh, BTW, I know what your thinkin': Have I reached 9 of 10 on Loki's pissed off scale, or am I just at 8. Do you feel lucky punk, well, do ya?
