Ok Guys and we on site and we just finished our first scenario. We are eating lunch right now.

The first Scenario consisted of the Red (20) team Versus the Green (19) Team. We Strikers are in the Red Team. Our "objective" was to make sure the Green team could not finished their missions. I am not sure what the resuslt is yet but I think we won, I will post the result later on.
We did very good so far and worked very well with the players we are with.

I will keep you guys posted.

The next scenario will be the Red team trying to push out the Green team out of the Woods. We shall see what we can do there. ;)

Ok, The Red (us) won the first scenario. Everything works by points here so we ended the first scenario with 160 point and the Green with 50.

Second Scenario; We had to push the Green forces out of the Woods. Basically we took 5 standard wooden field and played on that. We got 4 of the 5 field somewhat easily within the first 30 minutes of the game scheduled for 2 hours 15 minutes. After that we got to a choke point where they were behind bunkers and we had no cover to attack. We tried to get through that point until the end of the game, we lost this one.

After the second scenario the score is 260 Red and 250 Green so we are still leading. :)

The boys just came back from cleaning up and we are going out to eat, I will update about the rest of the day when we come back.

Mission 3 was about the Red team defending a wooded field, the Bedlam village and a Town Ruins. we did pretty good but that probably because the Green team was too lazy to attack us... They finally attacked about 5 minutes before the respawn (45 minutes or so in the game). A Seize fire was called and the troop regrouped so we just finished with a 15 minutes game in the Village (Respawn every 5 minutes). At the end of the 15 minutes however owned the building got points, there is about 8 or 9 buildings. I believe that the Red team owned all but 2 at the end.

Final score was 410 for the Red and 370 for the Green. Woohooo!!!

There was a lot of nice things about this place and the scenarios were not bad either. Because of the recent bad weather (26 inch of rain in July alone) we had tons of Mosquitos in the second mission. I mean...TONS of them.

Other than that it was nice to meet out of state players again and see how they play. Traveling like this really makes me enjoy airsoft more because we don't have the whinny babies always complaining like our local games.

We had a total of 39 players including 4 from Ohio, 3 from Iowa and 2 from Wisconsin. I believe all the others were Local (Chicago) players.

I agree with Punisher. This game was well worth the trip! Excellent facility, Friendly staff, outstanding terrain and interesting scenarios. I especially liked how they integrated a point system into win/losing an objective and the respawn with point penalties (too many team respawns cost you points). I am SO sore I can hardly move. All around GREAT weekend! :D

Sorry guys I guess we left a wrong impression of the Strikers or Ohio players with some Chicago local players.

striker guys,
greetings from the windy city... glad u guys made it back safe and sound... anyways, in behalf of CAA im sorry you guys got a bad impression- well actually yes u did coz u kiked butt and its a convesional reaction of "the agony of defeat" im sure u can understand that... (i hope)

all i can say is that i had fun coz i managed to flank a couple of u guys (case ur wondering who, i was the guy w/ a gas gun)

anyways my only comment on the event is that it wasnt properly OC'd everyone was not properly breifed (maybe a problem w/ commercial feilds coz alot of walk-ins who just come in to shoot and not even bother listening)

anyways, it was really great shooting at u guys and im impressed on how u guys came very prepared from uniforms to tactics. as for me i just decided to play 7 am that day :) nice to live 1.5 hrs away :P

hope to see u guys at the end of my twisted gun in the near future

I survived Mosquite Canyon, mlutiple hits from just about every member of the opp force (not a ripp on them, just my status as "bb magnet"), the non-potable shower and old and achy joints...

I get home and have one job to do: get the wheelbarrow of grass (which my wife was kind enough to mow while I was in Joliet) and dump it in the back.

I made the objective, but rushing down the hill as a storm was starting, the 'barrow caucht and the leg cut hell out of my right shin - ouch!

Getting to the smooth area of my yard, I started running again only to have the same thing happen; this time tearuing a quarter by half inch chunk out of my LEFT shin...

Moral of the story?

Airsoft: far less dangreous than yard work...

Argh. I'm not this old. But man do I feel it. Soreness....

I gotta hand it to the Chicago boys, they put up some darn good resistance. I had an absolute blast, and I felt we worked fantastic as a team out there. I really enjoyed the first and last missions. The woodland and mounds near the car yard was great playing area. The city and the ruins were fun to hold and a challenge to defend or attack against. I wish there had been walls dividing the buildings internally, but it was still awesome to book it from a firehouse into city hall while taking fire from the second story of a library. How often can you have that experience?

I did NOT like the second mission primarily due to the fact that it came with complimentary blankets of mosquitos for every player. I would rub my hand down my leg and it would come back covered black with squashed mosquitos. Also, the second mission was played over 4 individual fields that were piecemealed together and fought across their width when they were designed for lengthwise confrontations (think fighting from the sides of a field that is usually set up for forward battles. All the fortifications are sideways, and there was no protection available since there was no anticipation of a need to defend from the side which is usually out of bounds but suddenly is valid play area). When we advanced into the last quarter of the field, we hit a choke point that had not really been designed to fight in. No cover for an advance (barely even saplings!), and some intense fortifications for the defenders (55 gallon drums, chem barrels, shacks, etc.). The respawn for the defenders was right behind the fortifications, and our respawn was a half mile hike back through swampy cliff spattered terrain. It was never designed to be fought across widthwise, and there was no way to take it. Most of the time was spent being pinned down and eaten alive by bugs. But it was still fun to try to win an unwinnable scenario.

Overall had a great time. I liked the attitudes of the people we played with and against. A lot of professionalism out there, and I didn't really detect much animosity over the outcomes. Overall a very enjoyable experience. I would gladly share the field again with these folks, and will definately be heading back for some additional gamage next year. Hopefully though, there won't be any more confusion over me being a paintballer next time just because I chose to mount my weapon in a high and snug position against my shoulder during the city assault. I was trained to tuck it into the socket of my shoulder for stability during a crouching run while firing. I can understand it could be mistaken for a paintballer holding a marker over his head, but hopefully we can avoid that label next time. ;)

I really liked the guys on Red Force, mostly because I actually got to know them by fighting alongside them. I didn't really get that chance with Green Force. Maybe we can get them out here for a game or two. :) I'd definately like to see a few of them again. ;) Especially those guys who were with the Strikers holding the woodline in mission 1.

Thanks for a very memorable time everyone. :D

Greetings gentlemen,

The 3 of us from Iowa had a great time and were glad we could meet some AO players finally.

You guys looked and played the part of a great team. Loved the radio chatter while we were waiting for green to attack on the 3rd mission...funny stuff.

1st scenario we were on the green team, we would have done MUCH better if we would have moved into the wasteland before it was completely controlled by red.

2nd scenario kinda sucked...we joined the red team, but ended up trying to attack a good defensive position with a bunch 2" trees as cover.

3rd scenario made it all worth it. Bedlam and Armagedden are very cool little fields. We have plans to make something similar to Armagedden on our local field, hopefully it gets done by next spring.

Great weekend, plan to go to both big games there next year. Also hope to see you guys at our October 4th game, (finally named! OP: Linebacker III).

Hey. I'm new to this forum. Anywho...yeah, it was a great day (I was the the asian dude...with the broken M4...on the red team....) Staff was real nice, not all too bossy or what not. End of the last mission was a little....wierd (didn't get the cease fire thingy, but the 15 minute long mini firefight was cool) , but it was fun none the less.
