I'm looking for an Aimpoint replica but am having a hard time finding any review. About the only good info I have found so far to stay away from the TGS version 1 replica.

Does anyone have one of these RDS? What about the Guader and Marui versions? On top of that, has anyone seen the Marui version for sale anywhere?

I dont know a lot, but first off, stay away from TM's remake. It would be ok if you just wanted to pay a cheap price for one and make didnt matter, but its plastic. Thats the first downfall. And two, its not exactly a great replica, but it gets it done.

I personally have my sights set upon the HurricanE 30mm AP Red Dot Sight.

Its 93 dollars overseas, and is the cheapest Aimpoint remake, plus it comes with a 20mm weaver rail mount to mount it to. So for this price, I cant pass it up. HurricanE from what I have read, has a good rep, and is known to just produce some pretty good items. So that has caught me since and made me want it. I dont like the aimpoint remakes with those wire htings on the caps for some reason, I prefer this one better, and it has the flip up lense covers. :)

After looking them up, there are 3 other kinds I found on WGC:

The only real difference I can see, and obviously, is how the caps are mounted, either by those wires, or with the rubber piece. They all have mounts and lense flaps, so really it comes down to make, price, and what you like.

I tried out the ACOG reflex (the one with the orange triangle) the other day and it was the best thing I have ever seen in my life hands down. Does anyone make a decent copy of this or am I going to have to shell out like 750+ for an AEG scope?

Cobalt, these are offered at WGC.

Someone who used to play up here had an ACOG, and I dont rememer what type it was, but from what I had read and he complained about, they have a problem with that make of adjusting, and it would be inadjustable so you couldnt do much but use it as a scope.

Someone will have to help me on that. But here are the ones for ACOG replicas:

thanks army, i had looked but must have missed this one. the real triangle one was not adjustable, however it didn't look exactly like the one in the picture (which doesn't bother me one bit- since the real one is A- actually $425 B- this replica still has the triangle, which is much easier to use than the dot when switching from "reflex" to "precision")

the one I used was a single fused peice of metal, probably 1 inch tall at the front which sloped downward- I'm sure it was only a single lense, but now my recall is getting fuzzy since I tried out several different scopes.

While I'm not sure about the cheaper of the two at War Gamers, I have the NSN ACOG (the one for $165 at WGC) and it's physical appearance is supposed to be identical to the real-steel version of the ACOG. I can, however, tell you that is where any similarity between the two ends. The NSN version is a 4x32 scope, and does not have a traingle reticle. Instead, it has the traditional crosshairs, but also incorporates a bullet drop compensator.
Just so you know, it is not a reflex site at all, not lit in any way. Basically, it's a traditional magnifying scope, in a slick looking body.

yeah there are several ACOGs in the family, reflex, drop compensation (very nice!) adjustable and non. I'm going to go back and find out exactly what I used- I haven't seen an airsoft replica of that exact one, but I do very much like the triangle reticle and thanks for the input.

I had actually heard reports of the airsoft replica having an absolutely horrid eye relief.

!!at least in real-steel!!- reflex sights don't really have issues with eye relief- that's the point you have both eyes open, and if you can put the dot/triangle on the target you are going to hit it a reasonable percentage of the time.

also, anytime you are wearing apaintball mask you are going to have a hard time with your cheek weld, resulting in an adjustment of the sight picture, and your eye relief

Ok, just to clarify, I meant the airsoft version of the Trijicon ACOG, not the ACOG reflex.

I have seen AlphaSix's ACOG before and have heard him talk about eye relief issues a lot. I'm not 100% but when people say the eye relief is bad, they mean very bad. Somewhere in the range of 2" - 4". This is not a product of wearing a mask, but puely an eye relief issue. Like I said, get a hold of AlphaSix
