A pretty crazy video of an IED, luckily it failed to hit its mark, could have been nasty.

Looks like the morons buried it too deep.

Nope, they were lazy. The road is elevated. They put it in a drainage pipe.

Are you sure Se7en. When I was over there they didn't have enough resources to have drainage pipes. But talk about close we had a RPG go right through the motor block of one of our trucks and didn't blow due to them being lazy or stupid and not engaging the fuse before launch lol

Excuse me?
I think he was being sarcastic for the names the Iraqi's end up calling us Americans.
That wasn't an IED. It was a tremor (http://wirelessdigest.typepad.com/photos/uncategorized/tremors.jpg).

That is a fantastic, but terrible, display of firepower.
It just occured to me that this is an IED. Improvised. It tore that road and at least a few tons of soil and rock wide open. I would hate to see what our "non" improvised stuff does to them.

The general insurgents who are fighting us only have improvised weapons. I have heard somewhere, maybe even from here on AO that the weapons they are using are absurd. Like Civil War Era muskets and WWII rifles. It's not like we are fighting a completely organized army. And the ones who are in order are dangerous.

I've seen pictures of them using Webley's and Enfields, as well as a WWI era Maxim machine gun!
The thought of the rare stuff that is over there getting used and abused kills me...

I'm here in Iraq as part of a route clearance element. They like to us culverts packed with HME, and sometimes use complex ambushes. These guys were lucky! I survived an IED hit 300lbs of HME packed in a culvert in a much more durable vehicle than an 1114.
