I just bought a BSA red dot, thinkin that i could just mount it to my MP5. i wasnt thinking correctly when i bought it, obviously. well, i was wondering if anyone knows where i could get a cheap mount. i have seen a few for 30 bucks, but i dont want to have to pay that much. or if anyone knows a secret to mounting a red dot on an MP5. any help would be much appriciated.

I've got the HurricanE scope mount on my MP5, it's very nice, made of metal, and doesn't move around. I think it was like $40

To the best of my knowledge, thee isn't a way of simply attaching a scope onto an MP5 without a mount of some type.

Alpha is correct, you have to use a mount of some sort with a weaver rail on top. And just to advise you, do NOT buy the low profile mont that TM makes and comes with their MP5 RAS. Because of its design, the BSA red-dots (and those of similar design) will not fit on it.

There are several raised mounts though, and thats how I would go. That way, the scope will be up over the front sight. As for the high prices, I'm afraid thats just a fact of life wih airsoft stuff, you have to be willing to shell out the cash...:(

As they have mentioned, your asking a bit too much for what your looking for :(
Your best way is to just find a mount you want, or really like, and save up for it. Its better to save for something you like, then just buy the cheapest thing you can get.

Right now, I have a BSA 30mm on my Mp5 and I just use the HK style mount, which I extremely like for what it does. It only has problems falling off(because I know DumboRat will mention it) when you have the right side of it, on your back, which means if your holding your gun, dont let the right side of hte gun face you, that is if you carry it on your back. The lever could release and let it drop. Its not a big deal, but I just know someone will mention it.

My plan is in the future, or by the end of this year atleast, is to purchase another Hk claw mount, and get the HurricanE AP 30mm Red Dot Sight - and it comes with a mount for the rail, and use that for my mp5's AND my g3a3, with the BSA just to sit around or sell.

But onto your need, your just going to need to get the money for one, I dont recall seeing anything under 30 dollars by the time it gets over in the US.

with the g&g LPM in combination with a red dot sight, will you still be able to clear the rear and front sights?

I'm asking if the gun's sights will interfer with use of the scope. I'm using the tasco 1x42mm red dot, but have not ordered a mount yet. I don't need the stock sights, so that's not really a big concern for me. Thanks.

Okay, I think I understand that, but on the mp5, the front sight sits pretty high. From pictures, it looks you'd see atleast 1/4 of the sight on a common red dot scope looking through the lens (i don't really know, it just looks that way). Thanks for all the help btw.
