i came up with this today. please go there and read and let me know what you guys think... regardless i think it would have potential with some work.

This has been suggested by various people over the years, and at one time there was even a buggy airsoft mod for counterstrike. The general consensus has always been that it would be pointless to create a simulation of a simulation.

So long as you get to custimize your gun with anything and everything you can do in airsoft I would buy it. I hate playing games where you only get to pic the gun and cant put anything onto it.

Someone made a post on ASF a few days ago in general discussion. They scanned a page from EGM that had a short few paragraphs about it. It's a japanese game with dated graphics. There was a link to a video as well. Since ASF is down, I couldn't get the links.

I've heard of (and have actually seen the cover) of that game. It's true that it exists but only Japanese.

There is in fact a airsoft videogame...Sadly its Japan only and from like 2001 so I would really not count on it coming to the U.S.A.

That would be a great idea, start off as a kid, have to go into wal-mart to purchase a gun. then you must win some games to earn more airsoft 'senority'. eventually work up to big AEG's and such.

there would be a game out if there was demand for it, i mean, to be honest with you, a lot of ppl dont even know what airsoft is!

There are 4 easy steps to turning a modern FPS into an airsoft game (like Counter-strike for example):

Step 1: Replace all gun noises with airsoft gun noises
Step 2: Remove brass animations from game
Step 3: Take out ragdoll death animations, and insert those of a player holding his hands up and putting a red rag on his head.
Step 4: Remove all explosives, or, make them just make a boom sound, with no giblets or bodies flying.

There, you've just made an airsoft mod out of CS. Enjoy.

There is an airsoft mod for bf2 (its swedish, never could find it) and a bunch of mods out there for cs:s but i don't think any every finished.

I'm curious....does this game let you have the option of not calling yourself out? Does some percentage of the AI not call out? Do you have a random chance of your gun going tits up (% based on mfg. of the AEG you have and any mods). : )

well, this concept is funny. Oddly enough, EGM just featured the game in their mag. Your playing a game, of a game, with reproductions of replica weapons.

There's a Paintball First Person shooter out there, and I must say, if you want to play a video game of Airsoft, why don't you get your lazy butt out there and play the actual thing? Airsoft is nothing like Counter Strike, your not FPS Doug, you don't get head shots every time your finger touches the trigger, Spawn Camping is not 1337, and neither is praying and spraying.

my take on it is there are already tons of airsoft games out there, heres a short list,

every socom
battlefield two
counter strike
day of defeat

and soon coming out call of duty 4!

no but seriously. airsoft is a simulation and like previously said it would be pointless to create a video game for it, i mean thats what a lot of video games are...airsoft just what we wish it was with blood and booms and extremly accurate weapons, and no hicaps, and everyone calls there hits. no major differences really :)

really the only airsoft video game id want to see is just some flash game on the forums we can play for kicks that has jokes in it.

I'd just like to get this out there...

An airsoft video game is just a shooting game without the blood. The guns can usually stay the same, and well, if the graphics weren't even that great, you wouldn't even be able to tell. Airsoft video game is pointless, it's just like the paintball mods on Call of duty (although the CoD1 version is pretty good..)

Anyways, I personally see no point! If you can think of very different things that would occur while making an airsoft game, feel free to post it.

I found another game too. Ball Bullet Gun. a 2d stratecy/shooter for one of the OOOOLD nintendo systems. Then there is also the FPS one that I still can't find.
