Battery Problems

Just today i soldered one of my batteries that had a wire torn off. Well when i tried to plug it into my charger it did not start to charge. It is a HITECH charger, and the battery is a 9.6v 1200mah 30amp dis. Then after failure on the HITECH, i tried to plug it into my standard wall charger. And the dang charger started to smoke so i pulled it out fast. it started with in 2 seconds. And the red light didnt come on. Put then battery works in my gun. So i dont have a clue whats going on. Unless i soldered the wires back on wrong. thats the only thing i can think of.

This may be a little too obvious, but perhaps your battery is fully charged? Try discharging it then hooking it up to your HiTech. If that does not work, then you may have a short somewhere. Check to be sure that no bare wire is exposed anywhere.
