Hmm...I did a search on yahoo about this gun and came up with nothing relevant to what I wanted :P. I would like to know the pros and cons of this gun, because I am thinking of buying one. Why was production of it cancelled in the first place? Is it due to a design flaw that they couldnt iron it? Give me some info please.

Since when does Western Arms make a DE .44

Oh they did make one, I didn't know it was a .44, but they did make one. Can't offer any info, I'm just backing up your question.

In all honesty, youd be better off with a KWC Desert Eagle ( I have yet to use the new maurai one, so i cant give any opinions on this piece) That WA replica will eat a hole in your pocket, and finding magazines for it is going to be.........rough to say the least.

Like 47 said, the WA is a collectors item, and in that sense would be expensive to find and maintain. Also, given gas guns lack of reliablity (they all break eventually....) wouldnt one feel bead skirmishing it really, for fear of breaking a collectors item.
THe KWC DE is a cheap gun that ive really never heard anyone gripe about, with only positive reviews in my experience.

I forgot about that whole collector's item thing...passing this one up :P

I owned two KWC Desert Eagles, and both broke after about the same amount of shots (2000 at most). I dunno if its KWC or the distributor, but Im never buying KWC again :P

Sorry to hear that, no offense, but maybe it was the user? Did you properly maintain/lube them? I had one (not the one i sold maynard) that i put about 500 rounds through with red gas, and about 1500 with green, and it never failed to shoot, and never showed any signs of aging....

I'd say look into the Tokyo Marui Desert Eagles before you think about a KWC. There's a short review here:

Also, there's a thread at arnie's somewhere.

I own a KWC Deagle w/ a 6'' and 10'' barrel. W/ red gas and .25, it gets 385 fps chrono'd with the long barrel, 360 with the short one. It also kicks hard. The new MArui one (A friend of mine has one) I much less durable, it almost seems as if it was made of weaker material. The kick and power is also lower. An interesting note: The 10inch KWC barrel fir on the marui gun

The maurai Desert Eagles are horrible. I speak from experience. In no way could they out perform a KWC desert eagle. I have owned 2 KWC's and one Maurai, and the KWC's are worth every penny. Aside from the pistols size (which is not an issue for me) they are great sidearms, or primarys. In the TM Desert Eagle (old version) The slide was very.....iffy. It felt weak, and when firing seemed to have lateral roll on it. The KWC Desert Eagle has a very solid feel, Sound, and good enough blow back to knock your sights out of allignment.

I would not consider a Maurai Desert Eagle

Well I have to step in here and completely agree that the KWC DE is a FAR better field weapon than the TM!! The brand new TM may be different, but that is something yet to be seen or proven.

The truly sad part about the KWC DE is that KWC in general has a rather high off the line malfunction rate. Something like 30% or so of what comes off the lines fails in a rather short time frame. The rest however server their owner's for a long time without trouble.

I own a KWC DE with FULL trades! I can give pics if you don't believe me. I also have 3 different barrel assemblies for it. I bought my DE used and the previous owner took very good care of it and put at least 1000rnds through it. Yet when I received it only the box looked like it had been used and the only mark on the DE was a small ding on the lower part of the slide which is hardly noticable.
Since it's been in my ownership (since spring of last year) I have put at least another 1000rnds through it without a SINGLE malfunction caused by the DE....meaning I've had a problem with super crappy BBs once, but that in no way is the fault of the DE.

My DE easily chrono's 400FPS with .2g on a regular basis using HFC BRAND Green Gas. Which may or may not be true HCFC22.
With the 10" barrel in place I have had it chrono OVER 400FPS.
It kicks hard, feels good, is heavy and VERY reliable!!

The only people I could see that would have any just reason for bashing the KWC DE would be those who were among the 30% failure group.
The TM DE (not the new hardkick version) was far more detailed and good looking than the KWC, but was NOT EVEN CLOSE in performance or reliability.

KWC DE all the way....until time and proven results tell us otherwise!!:p

OH and take a look http://djinni.topcities.com/airsoft/GBBassorted.jpg
Ok so the pic is rather bad, but you can see the DE with all 3 barrels. 10" in place and the silenced and standard above it.
And if that pic won't show even if you right click>Show Image
Then just go HERE (http://djinni.topcities.com/airsoft/AdamsAirsoftArsenal.html) to check it out.

Yeah, we all know that the KWC is better than the *old* TM DE's, but i'd still wait on more reviews of TM's new hardkick before getting a KWC.

there's a positive mini review at arnies, pretty high fps considering it uses HFC134A.
