Right now, I use a P90 and a M9 for skirmishing. In the coming months, I will be getting either a TM M16A2 or a TM M4A1 RIS. I will still continue to use my M9 as my sidearm.

My currect tactical gear consists of a Blackhawk Crossdraw EOD vest on the Botach P90 magazine pouch. Seeing as how the P90 magazine are nothing like M16 / M4 magazine I would like to update my tactical gear to more standard (USGI) equipment with a special forces (SF, SEAL, etc.) look.

What are these operators using now? Vest? LBE? Other? What about holsters, is there any type of standard, or do individual operators tailor their gear to their taste?

I am kind of leaning toward what is called (I think) an enhance LBE, the one with the slanted magazine pouches. To finish this off, I would get some misc pouches and what not, but I kind of wanted to go with the "official" look.

Any suggestions on gear, or photos where I can see what our guys are now using would be appreciated.

Simply put, most SF units have a ton of leway and personal input as to what gear they use. Its pretty much whatever they like best, they use.

Many use tactical vests like those made by Blackhawk and Eagle Industries while others prefer chest rigs or LVB while some others still will be seen using plain old web gear belt kits.

If you want to look at what many of the SF units of the world are using now, check out this sight:

www.militaryphotos.net

They have pics of SF units in Afganistan, Iraq, and in training here in the US. They also feature picures of SF groups from allied countries. Well worth checking out, IMO

Here is a good pic:

militaryphotos.net...a present from god, I really like that site...

Can't help you on gear though, don't know more than these guys here. But for a real USGI look, I would get a replica interceptor, and FLC set ups from guarder. Not so special forces, I don't think, but it gets the GI look through.

Thanks for the input. I know what the interceptor is, but what is the a FLC?

Well, guarder called it an FLC, for Fighting Load Carrier. It was a RACK replica I think.

It's a affordable MOLLE Vest that comes with 4 M16 magazine pouches, a few misc pouches, and a M249 SAW/Minnimi Box mag pouch(might hold your p90 mags too :) ) It's available in woodland, black, and OD. Should be at redwolfs for about 120 bucks? And as it is MOLLE, you can adjust your pouches to be anywhere on the best as you see fit.
