OK, the Hardballer is relatively cheap and it looks alright, so I purchased it from ShortyUSA.
As always, ShortyUSA was right on time. I opened the box and there was my shipping qoute along with the gun.
First Impressions:
After I held the gun and had a few minutes to look at it, I noticed how cheesy it really did look. The pictures and the advertising on all of the webpages made it look glamorous, where right here, right now it was a cheaply built peice of plastic with three shiny metal objects to make it appeal to the eye.
Firing:
Beneathe the barrel, housed in the pump is the magazine. It's lt's about the length of the barrel and it holds about 20 to 40 BB's.
Well, bored and dissapointed with looks, I decided to give it a try. I filled the magazine and started to fire it. I thought, " Hey, not bad! " after firing a few rounds in my backyard at various things. The gun shoots in the 140-160 fps range and the BB dies out at about 20-30 ft.
The Low-Down:
The gun is seriously not worth the $60 shipped that I payed, ( Overnight and Second day air is he only shipping method to HI and AK ) but it is a price you pay for an actual functioning airsoft gun. ( I bought it 4 months ago, and is still working great. )
Upon purchasing this gun, I was tricked by Airsoft Atlanta and their what appears to be "phony" review written by them to boost sales. The gun is not half of what retailers brag of it to be, but then again I bought it to be a sort of prop, "look-at" sort of weapon. The gun is light, and it *will* break easily if abused even in minor detail.
I have encountered one problem imparticular. The gun would frequently jam and when cocked and engaged, make a muffled noise of air, and no projectile would come out. When this happens, it needs to be opened up. The gun is cheaply built, but I have to say it has some legitemate range, and the magazine capacity is a defenite upper. I would recomend this gun to those who have Springer and Mini battles, as it is not too powerful for the genre, but it does have some decent range.
Hopefully to be continued by the views of other owners of the Hard-Baller series.
