I was wondering what Flea had on his M4a1 sniper rifle, because im modeling my CA M15A4 after it. Or TM M4a1 RIS. I cant seem to find a good pic or a pic of his scope anywhere. :(

my next project will be to mod a M249 (any make from top) into Slo's S-Saw (Short Squad Automatic). That thing was wicked fun :)

Airborne, are you sure? I thought his red dot was a high power scope also...And agent 47 i thought they all ahd m60's not Squad Automatic Weapons..(SAW) or M249. Hmm gotta take a look at slo's again...

Slo had a M249 S-Saw 5.56 mm belt fed automatic. It had the canvas 100 round magazine pouch as opposed to the 200 round bulky-as-all-hell box. Had a retractable stock, and a shortened barrell. The flash Hider ended flush with the front site.

Linx -
He must have played a lot of Counter-Strike before joining the Special Forces - that would explain his sniping accuracy while running & jumping. Bad movie all around.

What I want to know is, how do you guys know their names? I don't recall any of them referring to each-other by name. So that made it even harder to give a crap when they started dying. It was just like, "well that guys gone, that sucks, I liked his gun." When I finally rented that movie I took it back and demanded that Hollywood Video give me back the 2 hours I had wasted watching it. Okay not quite, but I should have!:p

My guess on how he did this (or how it would be possible) was to use the open eye sighting technique...having both eyes open when looking for a target, closing the off eye long enough to get off a shot, open it back up and check target... You mentally block out the scope eye when doing this..IIRC, Marine snipers are taught this skill. It doesn't work for everyone, and can cause headaches.
Do any of you hunt?????? It's just freakin hard to hold perfectly even when you have a bipod, No. there is no possibility.
btw, sorry i'm straying off topic, again, So, I just played with this guy who had a gun like you want, And it rocked:D

Did he have RIS on the gun? And if so what did he do with the battery?

Hmmm, since he's a sharp shooter, he has a silencer, i think that would be the KM lightweight?and does he even have a scope?Or Red Dot sight? Im pretty sure scope because he shot targets from a distance, so it must be some sort of Red dot Scope.

It was not a aimpoint. It is a bullet drop compensator scope. You can pick up a regular one pretty easy. The one Flea has on his weapon also has a illuminated recticle. There are the windage and elevation turrets and then the battery compartment slash on off switch towards the rear. These are hard to find but not impossible. They are also a little more money. Pick up a copy of Shotgun News. They have a ton of after market parts that will work on airsoft weapons.

Ty lone gunman, someone who accually sticks on topic..:p ;)
I liked the movie, the guns, and the chick was pretty hot at times. It wasn't the most realistic movie I've ever seen but it was fun to watch.

btw guys...
Slo's SAW was a shorter version of the m60 (aka m60 shorty). The m60 shorty is known to be used by Navy Seals for a while.

I just thought this should be added, but how many movies are 100% realistic? Ones that aren't based off true stories

And didn't Lake ( the guy with the mohawk ) Also have some kind of M4 other than that shotgun he has in that picture you submitted? Carrying two big guns at the same time.... That's like me carrying 2 APS2's and getting 2 kills with no problem

Once again, Slo's weapon was NOT a M60! It is a 5.56 mm chambered FN M249 S-SAW Short Squad Automatic Weapon. Sometimes referred to the Paratrooper SAW. Why, oh god why, would you want to carry a m60 that short? watch the movie again mate. A m60 with a barrell that length would have more than it's share of overheating problems, along with the accuracy of a sawon off derringer. I could even tell the difference in the weapons noises enough to tell it's a SAW, as opposed to the noise of the m60; and hollywood usually ****s those things up horribly (making a .45 sound like a .50 bmg or what-not)

Oh and Knights. His primary weapon was his 12 guage shotgun. If you notice, he has the LIGHTEST Load of ANY of the soldiers in teh movie. He had a LBV with 6 magazines for his M4, and a Remington 870 express magnum (what i could tell) with a 7 round barrell extension on the shell tube. He was the squads pointman. In Vietnam it was not uncommon to see someone with a shotgun, along with their M16A1/XM-177e1. Also, if you notice, alot of the time, he has his M4 slung on his back. For one, a M4 is relatively light. With a Red dot, and a supressor it isnt much more. The shotgun is definately heavier. If you noticed, the fella toting the M60 i believe, picked up a AK 47 on the way ;)
Sure, it would be heavy, but managable. I have heard of seals in many cases in vietnam carrying a shotgun, a m79 grenade launcher, and a revolver. Not to mention grenades, shells, and a machatae, fighting knife, and whatever other gear...

my mistake...i think....
wierd thing, i have the movie, and i'm positive its an m60 shorty when Slo is walkin towards the treeline and shooting randomly (stupid scene). that's what i think since you can see the distinct flat-top reciever and stock which is almost level with it.
strange how in the pictures it actually looks like the m249, but then again, you only see the bottom. just to let people know, its a sure thing that red has an m60 shorty though (look in provided pic). also notice how doc uses an m60 (maybe Slo's or Red's) to give Red cover fire while planting a claymore.
There, got what i wanted to say out. i feel stupid talkin about this movie so much, since it is really unrealistic, and the fact that its a movie.
Thx for hearing me out

HEY SPIKE S.
Back to your question. I found the scope that Flea has on his M-4. It Is a Marksman series Illuminated Bullet Drop Compensator Scope. It is available from
cmoscopes.com.
And I hate to be the barer of bad news. The scope is $480.00. I really think that might be a little to much for astetic purposes, don't you think. I myself was looking at a ELCAM. That was until I found it "cheap' for $680.00. You do have an alternative. Check out
antcorp.com.
There scope is only $280.00. anyway I hope this helps you out.

Slo uses the m249. Trust Agent 47 the man he knows what hes talken about. I know an M60 doesnt look like an M249!!!!!! Yeah Doc does use Reds M60 to give him cover. any way i think the idea for the fleas rifle is great!! If I had the money id do it!!

I finished watching it for the upteenth time and i'm agreeing with everyone else . I agree it's a 249 for slo and red uses an m60 short version. Really good scene to look at is the bridge crossing. Also watch the directors "making of" it shows 2 or 3 close ups.

TEARS OF THE SUN SUCKED. I THOUGHT THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE AN ACTION MOVIE. NO SHOOTING IN THE FIRST 45 MINUTES. IT SUCKED.
Tripod

uhh I don't think that's true, but whatever. It's not the best movie but then again it's no better than James Bond and James Bond always has action in it....

Well to go off subject again.
I thought the movie bit mojor nuts till i saw the making of on the dvd. It made much more sence to hear the former seal tell his part about the movie.
